Don't worry. I don't think the crazy Greek was planning to swap spit.
Just remember, this whole thing is for not without lots of pictures. And that goes for the midget strippers as well

I think this is where it all began with Cliff, I think.......
http://www.avsforum.com/t/279743/buying-a-barco-data-800-have-a-question
Hello everyone,
I'm a CRT projector noob and am going to be picking up my first entry level barco data 800 on monday or tuesday and I have a couple of questions.
I'm going to be at first, using the projector with my computer as an htpc. The video card I'll be driving the projector with is an AIW9700 pro. From what I understand, I'm limited at 1024X768.
What would I need to be able to say pick up an RCA high def directv receiver and run this projector at 1080i, 420p?? Is this possible?
Does anyone in here own this model and what do you think of it?
I'm paying 800 bucks for it. According to the seller, it's in mint condition with about 5000 hours on it. He tells me that there is absolutely no burn in whatsoever on the crt's. Is this a good price that I'm paying?
He is also throwing in a 6X8 screen as well as the RGB converter and all cables, manual, remote.
I'm looking foward to tackling this project and will post pics with my progress as things pull along.
Also, can this projector be modded to run at a higher resolution considering that it has 8" CRT's?
Thanks much and am looking foward to being an avid member of this forum!

Holy sheep sh*t, that was almost 11 years ago! All the usual suspects… Cliffy, Curt, Kal… I think I was still mostly lurking at that time, sponging all the knowledge I could before I bought a new house and actually started building my theater a few years later.
Whodathunk a bunch of us would all be getting together to hang all these years later?!?!
Sniff, sniff…
