Hey guys,

I just figured out that AXPONA is in Chicago this same weekend! I figured a few guys may want to make the trip up to Rosemont (O'Hare area) for a couple hours and have a look-see… It's a bit of a bummer for me because I may end up having to work the show… No problem making it to Cliffy's, but I'll get there later, and I won't be able to have as much fun Saturday night, since I'll have to look presentable for the show on Sunday.

If anybody isn't familiar with AXPONA, it's the Audio Expo North America. It's an audiophile show - mostly really expensive two-channel stuff like megabuck amps, speakers, and turntables. Wilson, Pass Labs, Bryston, Focal, Magico, Martin-Logan, Mac, MBL… All that kind of stuff. It's like a smaller (much smaller), Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. It's more intimate, more manufacturer-focused and less-esoteric. Oh, and it's in Chicago. Wink

You may need to work the show, but your evening will be free. Heck, maybe we should come as a group and invade the show for an afternoon. Very Happy

If nothing else, the midget strippers would get good show coverage.

Steve, did you get my email through your work email address?

While I am not into audio that much anymore, I wouldn't mind seeing your crew and Seaton.

Yep, should work fine, actually. Just annoyed I can't party with reckless abandon because I'll have to have showered and not looked like I stayed up until 4am. Wink

It would be funny if you guys crashed the show. There's plenty of stuff to enjoy, and some stuff to make fun of. Besides, who wouldn't want to listen to a $250,000 pair of speakers in a hotel room temporarily upholstered in white fur? Wink

Thanks for posting that link ecrabb, I may actually attend. You know that you need to be over 50, wear a cardigan, a goatee or full beard, with optional pipe in hand, to be a true audiophile, right? Smile

Do it, Jeremy! It's only 7:15 or so according to Google Maps… That's not much further than my 6-hour drive. Wink

Bah, all in a day's work! Razz

Why did I think Ottawa was only 5 hours from TO? Maybe the roads were better in 1983 when I last drove it?

You're skimming again. I said

So, you're right. 5 hours to Ottawa.
