Moving it up tomorrow afternoon. should be no issue with the case and lenses off. Tried plugging in my PS3 to my FW900 with the HDFury, but didn't get a signal. The little blue light lit up in the converter, but no signal. I would go for the power cable, but I looked on the HDFury site and they sell it for $50! At this point, I really am thinking I'll just go the Moome route, just sell my HDFury and avoid getting the Gamma X altogether Razz

Looking forward to my rigged bed sheet screen! Planning on getting a screen from Elite Screens on Amazon, that prime shipping is very tempting! Thumbs Up

Try connecting the output of the Fury to a computer monitor... Just to see if it will work.

My FW900 is the only pc monitor I have out at the moment, but I'll be digging out some others to test. I started the PS3 in default mode (480i) via hdmi, so I don't think that would have been too much to handle for the HDFury.

My PS3 is the fat model which came after the PS2 compatible models. No card slots or anything in the front. Tried a bluray player as well, but no avail. I'm willing to bet it's just something minor that I'm missing.

That will power an HDFury 1 no problem. How long is your HDMI to DVI cable? Or are you using an HDMI to HDMI cable and an HDMI to DVI adaptor?

I had trouble with my HD Fury 1 no matter what it was plugged into until I added an external power supply. Same crap… Blue light, just no picture. Added an external power supply, and everything worked perfectly.

You can get a USB wall wart from Monoprice for like $4.

Jeremy, is this a standard cable that would work for the HD Fury, or did HDF do something weird where you can't use the cable as-is?

It was the polarity. HDFury1 uses negative ( - ) on the center pin. Most of those cables are positive ( + ) on the center pin. We had allot of people just cut the cable and reverse the polarity. Nokia phone charger cables were popular for that too.

That being said however. I run my HDFury1 through a 6-7 foot HDMI to DVI cable with no problems off a 60gb Phat PS3. I've used it on 3 of them. I also use it on my Samsung OTA tuner with no problems. Only time I needed the power supply was off the PC.

putting the HDFury on the back burner for a bit, going to work other things out. Like a screen!

should be getting it Tuesday, I know it's budget, yes, but it will be worlds better than the table cloth I've been watching Lord of the Rings on! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Made some pretty good improvements in focus and convergence lately. For a few days I absolutely was stumped on why I couldn't focus the blue tube, granted it actually should be the least in focus of the three, but it was to the degree of causing discoloration on a white scene with blue hazing in the corners. Eventually it occurred to me that I should play with the lens flapping and get my socket wrench back out! Things were actually starting to look pretty nice, so I ended up for another 3 hours re-doing all my focus adjustments as well as convergence. 1080i on the PS3 never looked so good!

I feel like I"ve got a handle on setting up the G70 for the most part now, which will cut down on my set up time for when I mount the screen up. Only issue I can see now is when I use the RGB Size and stretch the image across the entire tube face, there seems to be a bit of cut off on the lower right with some blue fuzz. Looks perfectly fine when I pull the image size in a bit horizontally, but I wonder if I'm not resolving the resolution to the full capability of the tube face by using a smaller surface area.

using component, I get these little horizontal line artifacts above and bellow a regular 16:9 image. sometimes the top three will disappear, but the bottom one seems to be persistent. I don't imagine I would be having such a problem with a Moome card?
