Something like that.. Well it have been on the marked for many years now, so i think they know, but ill bet that in most to all cases its just trow away and replace amp module.
Im not A PWM fan, so i try go around those amps, but as you know more than 2 years old your supposed to buy new gear anyway.

Let me also add for reference only that many higher output single driver subs use a 2 channel amp all the way through and then bridge the output on the pcb for the higher output.

The thing is really heavy. It's got a big toroidal transformer and a 10000µF cap almost as big as a pop can. I think it's in the $400-500 ballpark.
If I switch auto-on to 'off', and turn on the main switch, the light goes from red (standby) to green (on), and along with it a good solenoid click and nice bit of transformer hum, so it seems the PSU is working properly. The outputs however are deader than a doornail.
There's a sticker on the output wires that reads, "Shorting of the speaker wires while the amplifier is on will result in failure of the Ice Power Module. This is an expensive repair!!!"
I'm sure the amp was never abused, and of course it was never taken apart until after the amp started working, so the only way the outputs could have been shorted is if the voice coils shorted. An amp module is with me here and the subs are a day's drive away at the moment.
These certainly weren't cheap amp modules, but are they not easily repairable? I think I remember Curt saying the Ice amps were extremely difficult to diagnose and/or repair.
I'm guessing they're only 4-5 years old.

I actually emailed Taiwan and requested the schematics for this since it is listed as an obsolete model. Can you guess what their answer was?

Wow, that's helpful.
NOT.
Figures. As if the vendor would be able to do anything other than replace… AAaaaannnnd another piece of electronics would go to recycling and/or landfill.
It's so ridiculous because anybody that wanted to reverse-engineer could do it. All they do when they protect their schematics is that their products go to recycling.
Note to self: Don't buy one of their products.

That's ok. We can still fix it. It is just easier for me to guide you for testing if I have the schematics. I should still be able to guide you with some pictures. That is if you want to get that involved with it. Or throw it in a box and send it over. Doesn't matter to me. What ever you like.

Right. And there is nothing proprietary about ICE. Lots of makes use ICE and I have lots of those schematics. It is just some little differences that the actual prints would help with.
