Hm, point. That's another 40lbs heavier than my 8500. Is it easy to pop the lenses off an LC? That would bring it down close to the 145lbs-with-lenses that I hauled around. With a strap you can pick it up standing up straight so you don't put any stress on your back.
And I doubt you're much skinnier than me -- 175lbs 6'4". And an out-of-shape old fart (53 at the time) to boot!!

Lens removal isn't hard I am about 135lbs 5'6" I would like to know how you do the strap lift as it would be a lot easier on my back (pinched nerve)
If you think the marquee is a heavy beast try lifting a nec 10PG(almost 200 pounds ) I have lifted projection tvs lighter then that(of course I do a team lift for a projection tv)

sonys are super easy to carry since they have handles, I can carry my 1252 with one hand. marquee is so large its hard to put the arms around it, and fit with it through doorways, but not that heavy really.
I hope the thief is someone who will use it, lol, or he really didnt know what the hell he took..

I agree with you on the marquee being a tight fit through a door
Probably the thief thought it was something else(as if) but I can imagine someone packing one off

Nothin' fancy. I just ran two snug straps around it, sideways, i.e. going around both sides, not the front/back. Tilt it up on its side, grab the straps, pick 'er up.

I will have to try next time I need to move it but I doubt I will need to move it anytime soon

Doesn't that make you the Little E!!!
Man, I have lifted every pj I have owned by myself. I think the 1292 was the worst.

Nahh. I hauled my 8500 up & down stairs a few times, by myself. The trick is to rig up a strap on it so you can hang onto the damn thing. |
Mine is a 9500LC not going to chance it(it would likely squash me I am so skinny) |
yeah someone should try mine...I have the same as you but have the chief lift and mount so add another 50 pounds

I am the one that had my projector stolen. It was a Sony 1272Q, setup on a short dresser at about chest height, so it could point directly at the center of the screen for maximizing the raster picture. At the time of the theft, the video cable was unplugged from my HTPC, but still just hanging from the projector. The thief just walked in, yanked out the power cord from the surge protector sitting below it, and picked up the projector in one swoop. It is really heavy, but it can be done. I picked it up from the floor and placed it on the dresser. I say thief, but there may have been two of them, which would have been much easier. They didn't bother with anything else in the theater, and didn't touch my XBR960 CRT TV, at all of 34". The only other thing that was messed with was the dressers in the master bedroom. There wasn't any cash, but my wife's jewelry box was gone. My wife isn't a jewelry person, so it only had cheap pieces from when she was a child, which she kept for sentimental reasons. I guess the CRT projector was the consolation for the low score here. He/they were only here a few minutes, tops. I have been watching craigslist for it, but it hasn't reappeared. CRT projectors have been posted by pawn shops from time to time, asking $300-$400 for entry level ones. It was most likely parted out on eBay, or just dumped somewhere.
The projector had the bolt mod for aiming the lenses, and the zenor (sp?) diode mod to quiet the fans. The large plastic top case cover had one of the clips broken off. So I probably could have identified it if it was sold whole. Although, it would almost have been worth it just to get a picture of the look on his face when he was told how much it was worth, after all the effort of hauling it around.

Oh, and I have been lurking for years, just never logged in and posted before. I wouldn't have found, or been able to setup my CRT without this site.

If someone ever says to you hay I have a nice home theater room you may like to see just really suspicious as it could be the theif
More then likely though it may have been parted out and sold on eBay or on Craigslist
I have my marquee setup the same way to get the most from the tubes
Sucks it got stolen but it would be funny to get a pic of the persons face when they seen it
