Just wondering if my moome card will support 1080p@72mhz or higher. The VV1 should be able to punch it.

You mean Hz, not MHz.
And yes. It will.

Is there still the need for a scaler to shift the image with these Moome cards? Or can I just connect a player through hdmi?

It will do 1920x1080P 72hz, but a standard VV1 will look soft, with that high pixel clock. It will look much better with 1080P 60 hz
I have done 1920x 800P 96 hz to.

If you are talking about the newer Moome boards than they will support the clock rate. Older Moome cards will not.

I took the posted shots using my Chroma Pattern generators DVI out into a Moome card that's maybe 3 or 4 years old.
The pixel clock on my generator is: 330mhz
The pattern looks funny, because the DVI from my generator into the HDMI on the Moome card is obviously two different color spaces.
My generator has pre-programmed rates. And can also do custom rates, but they would need to be done using software and an RS232 cable.

I spent some time yesterday playing with the Moome card I have here.
The card I have is about three or four years old. It has the gamma chips soldered onto the board (not the retro chip add) with the little black wire going over towards the processor.
Well, after scoping and doing my thing, I removed that chip and put 3 solder blobs to bypass its use totally.
Before I had recommended to remove three resistors at the buffer chips to disable the gamma circuit. This was a recommendation for those who were using scalers or other external to the Moome gamma correction. And for the longest, the gamma switch chip remained on the board and in the circuit between the DACs and the buffer chips. All up until yesterday on the card I have here.........
Concerning 96hz going into a Moome card or will the card handle it. I would say so based on what I have been sending into the Moome card I have here, or if there's something very unique about 96 itself that the card may not accept, but for sure it did well accepting 85hz, and it did 85 at even higher vert/horiz resolutions than what we use.
I'm even more excited about the Moome card after yesterday, because If I can get 1080P 96hz into my setup, I would not have a need for 4K or a reason to even want it. 1080P native using 96 refresh will solve ALL artifact, motion and image detail problems. It will also bring out the best of a 2D image, and that has always been my goal.
The Moome card turns out to be more powerful than any of us had expected. I'm excited about that..

Is there a way to make a horizontal width mod? I'm running 817p96Hz but missing about 1 and half inches to fill the screen. I shifted the image slightly towards the left and blank out the right side to make it less viable.

What happens when you run 1080P?

I don't think I can do as I recall. I use the timings for 72Hz and switch retrace to fast.

I can't really remember. Could try it again later to night. I tried to make a 16:9 image in order to see if the banding would go away. And using my monitor and pc to move around the courser as I wouldn't be able to see it otherwise with blanking out the bottom and upper image to make it a 2,35:1.

Mike are you talking about an internal or external MOOME here?

I've never had one to look at. Not sure why Moome did not also send me an external
You know, I'm getting more and more excited about CRT than i have in a long time..

1080p@96Hz didn't work as the image became very distorted. I tried it a few different ways but with the same results. But if I'm not entirely mistaken it work for me 2 weeks ago, but not absolutely sure on that.
