No, you use the RCA sockets on the SCART cable for audio and composite video connects to the GUNCON.

That composite video plug on the gun is so the gun has the sync timing, it strips sync from composite video inside, the gun doesn't add anything to the composite video signal.

If the SCART cable you got doesn't have the little box with RCAs for audio and composite video on there near the console, you might need to get yourself the little adaptor that should've come with the gun.

Failing that, if need be, its composite sync the gun needs, so you can put it in the sync line if you like.

okay, i will... you said "You CANT cut that cable to get RGB, it is a PS2 component cable. PS1 has no component output, only composite, s-video, and RGB. You will get no image at all with that cable on a PS1, and itll be all green with a PS2. " you said something about a bridge.? where, between what? that component cable you suggest, hope i will have all pins active, because i dont see where to get the rgb out of it if not...

You need the right cable, itll work. Ive used them on a fair few NECs. The PS2 component cable is the wrong one. The bridged connection is moulded into the plug and cant be removed without destroying the plug.

maybe i just dont get it, (in that case am sorry for my persistance;) but it would be cool if we would at least consider that i might be right and that i could do the trick with my cable (its actually a quite cool high end style looking one!)..and therefore: what to do please

If we were working on a car and you said pass me a philips head screw driver, and i hand you a pair of water pump pliers, they would be the wrong tool for the job.

Its so pointless to be so persistant with the wrong cable in the hope you may save 10 bucks.

last try:

thats my cable.

the way i see it its rgb, video and LR, as the pins on the plug say the same, at least on the multiav plug side ( i dont know if the moulded something inside the string seperation cover.. i got the plug open, therefore i could do any changes the way i see.

you seem to know something about that cable i dont, may for the sake of it you share your knowledge with me so that i can proof myself wrong. which kind bridge connection do you mean? i just want to know at this point anyway and cant find clues on the net, only that as you say, this kind of cable is for ps2 and 3 only.. but why, where exactly is the difference? does anybody know?

please, )

bw c

ps: f...k it, i will buy this other cable, but its an interesting question anyway..

hey guys

i did the trick now with MY cable. just destroied it so that there cant be anything molded within it and connected every string to the right vga pins and the circuit, useed 220f caps for rgb and actually i got a pretty nice picture now...WOW...BUT!!!

if i am feeding the pj with the ps signal it seems to not get a straigt picture stream, as it allways switches arround and arround with no particular effect. after one or two minutes switching arround i have to press end to get a picture.
than, the pj menue is totally f*ck*** up, as it starts in the last third of the picture and goes somewhere i cant see what am doing. also the ps picture is quite nice but the menue in it is totally out of everything.
if i try to make a new imput entry blindly, (see above why) all i get is a black screen after the remote combination and it seems that nothing happend, as there is no new entry to find after i switch back to my laptop to actually see the menue again.

each time i press end, i get a picture of the ps again, if she loads the picture goes away to black screen, so i press end, there is the picture again...?!

weird sh*t and i dont know where to start. can it be that it is still the wrong cable even if i have a "perfect" picture and that this causes the issues? dont know what to do;/

my pj seems pretty buggy anyway since i have depowered it for something like two weeks , even with my laptop, as it doesnt respond to my old signal entrys. had to do new entrys again..

HELP please

You dont have a perfect picture, if it was perfect it would be stable!!

Did you make the LM1881 circuit?
