In here I will show side by side test to see how big improvement mod on cards and new tubes will do, to a CRT Barco 808 then compared with a not moded.

I also hope to do the same with a 909, and I hope that the owner let me check this when its finished.
And maybe with a digital compartment also if that's interesting.

Price so far with shipping to Norway 5000 dollar. The owner is a friend in Stavanger Norway.

This is done with mods so far on the on 808 projector 2:
6 board mod set. With HDMI card
Replaced the old antiquated Barco video chain with a new upgraded 2GHZ video amps.
Replaced the entire video system not just one section.
Switcher card and end at the driver card modified.
The tubes that are used are simulation grade tube. A new product with a P19lug guns, so you need a neck card mod to accept the new tube type.
Lenses that are used is colored HD Lenses (HD 145)

Now we waiting for this that geisemann wrote:
I am providing the new mods to my end users with the best setup . They will all get 3 versions of the mods with various BW limits to check for interference and overall picture quality. They will get a free mod for doing the testing as the more end user feedback the better so I can optimize the new design.
I have been working with some brand new op amps and semiconductors carefully optimizing the circuits to prevent noise and parasitic oscillations. The new mods just developed will be shipped soon in a week or so for testing and new side by side comparison .
It should be VERY interesting as I am making the HD BW over 4 times greater than the original Cine 9.

I cant wait to check this out back to the 80`s Smile

To make this test fair, pictures will be taken with same hi end camera on same screen with same settings and same distance.
Up to its best and compared. Then Projector 1 original and Projector 2 modded both with HDMI

When a orginal crt with only HDMI modded card installed it was better.
So something have to be not working correct.
At least I hope so for the owner.

You've tossed a lot of stuff up into the air, with nothing really explaining why, who, where, when, and purpose.

who is the "him" here:

"Still new cards and focus jokes and magnets to the tubes and new video card is being sent soon to him"

And waht exactly is the intent in this one:
Quote:

"The first pictures of a original 808 G will be shown soon, and just a HDMI mod,the 808 original is better, but I have to say that something have to be destroyed on the latest mods that's why I have to do this again"

Mike i think its more a case of lost in translation to english that is the issue here, may be easier if someone that speaks his language can interpret for us here? Laughing

What country are you from Diddern? What is your primary language?

Okay I try to explain this the short version.
1. The reason that i do this is interest in CRT and how god it can be.
2. The projector talked about that you talk about is the only one with these mods and tubes yet tested.
Instead of side by side test with a digital I want to know how big improvement there is form a original same projector.
The person that I talk about wanted to see the best out of his CRT and wanted to upgrade as much as possible.
We had a test with digital but was not a success. I have only watched his projector without and with mod and with and without new simulator tubes. And now after sending the cards back for new modifications he tried a original good 808 and just upgraded with a HDMI card and that seams better.
That's why I want to do this again and show the improvements and share this.
I will then show the improvements from a not modded to a modded.
This because I have headed that this does enormous improvements.
And I copied from something I wrote and will correct this sorry. 😉

Something wrong i hope., Right now the owner of the moded 808 feel that the original he has now with HDMI card is better, but I have to say that something have to be wrong on the latest mods he got so that's why I have to do this again.

version 14 was the best, then it went sorta downhill after that Wink

Then cards has arrived to the owner, I have not seen it yet my selves, but the owner feel that the new mods do some with the picture positive.
Not enormous improvements but you se some better black in film and possible some better sharpness.
The total modded CRT will be adjusted to its maximum and will be tested side by side whith a orginal with same HDMI output.
Pictures will be taken side by side, and the. We will see what it does.

And if it's worth the price. For some this is worth it just to get some better picture. And you want to get the best out of what you like the best and have.
