Maby Geisemann can explain, as it is taken from his website to show the results of his mods.

Let the guy who posted the pictures here explain what he is trying to prove, and what conclutions he made from those pictures, and what the idea is with it.

Why did you delete this?

Stridsvognen do you have 2 marquees up and running?
Would be fun to see documented improvements.
This is from G Eisemann

No idiot would use a image like that to document bandwidth..
I think we have been true the hole bandwidth test, and i see you still don't have a clue how to test and confirm it.
It would be possible to make those 2 images just playing with peaking focus contrast and brightness.
When you have a CRT projector your ready to do some serious testing on, lets know, and we can take it from there.
I think for most people that will make their crt better, they do not need to understand BW. They want to see that the image gets better.
I see what this images prove, with a mod the image gets much better if its not just playing with peaking focus contrast and brightness. Because I do not really see this big improvement on the mods I have seen.
That's why I wonder if YOU can provide it. You say you see it, I do not have CRT as you know and not 2 similar one with mod and one without.

Stridsvognen.....
Geisemann proves with his pictures that with his mod it gets better. Isn't that enough? Does he have to be an idiot for that?

Please explain what you see in those 2 images, and what is what, and how they prove a improved bandwidth.?

I only say one thing here. A good adjusted 909 or 9" does not look like the first picture at all.......
More like my old Barco 600.
But if I talk about that picture, that shows big improvements in focus, sharpness, noise and I will say better....
That is what you want to hear ?. Because I do not say MTF. But some better on that to after the pictures but that need to be messhured and I can't do that from pictures. Everybody will see that.
Is your 9" as bad as the first picture??
That's why I want to check with other also.
Hard to understand maybe. The hdmi mod here on curt Palme is also interesting.
What does that do to the image.

So after all the bitching about useless screenshots in the other thread, you like to continue comparing screenshots.?
And who would want to play with you, maybe the one on this forum who know the least about CRT, and how to test a CRT to judge whats good bad, better or worse.?
Go buy a CRT if you want to play, or leave the CRT evaluation to those who have one, and know how they work.. ( Interlaced )

Guys
Since the horizontal lines in the left image are blurred it suggests that the left image is merely out of focus......on purpose?

Since you are the best as you say or one of them, is there some way to proove this at all?
This is not the THRED for fighting with me, a thred of modding crt. And how to get it better.
Then why modd, how much could it cost, useful to buy new tunes or new PJ.
Let me in on this.
And this....
This is basic knowledge on your marquee 9500lc with tubes with colors with color filters.
Green color up to rec 709 is oversaturated
And red color is sub saturated. And and blue color have gamma problems , And need to be Defocused. Because if not defocused you have a big issue with the grayscale.
How Will this affect the Facetones on a marquee when primary colors it's not right from the start.
Then because your material is mastered in d65 rec709 HDTV.
This is also a issue with the Barco 909 and cine9 but the Barco 909 and cine9 have more Digital electronic and have Better gamma from fabric. But still not in the range of perfect REC 709 D65 hdtv standard.
And you can tell me what happens to the steps 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% 70% 80% 90% and 100% on your marquee when this is not correct in the primary colors. What happens to face stones then? Do you use the eye? Have an external filter to correct this?
Does the mods do something to improve this?
Because Facetones does not get even close to correct at all when it is like this. And you and MP said as I recall that the Facetones are perfect and natural. After what reference your own? Or does your BW helps on this😉
But then I understand that you have something to correct this with!
A modd perhaps?

You must be under the gun (from peoples who matters) to slug one at me in order to relieve yourself from suppressed anger. I have always treated you with respect, and those times that I didn't it was merely a nudge in your side, but this is more than that and I think you owe me an apology or an explanation.
And with you saying this on a Saturday night, when you know perfectly well I'm drinking, makes this even more shrewd.

You post 2 pictures of a green tube, one bad the other worse, then you start talking about calibration, what are you trying to point out.?
You dont have a CRT projector, and doubt anyone having one would want your advice on how to calibrate or mod it.

This has nothing to do with the screenshots where one is defocused and one is not (but looks like crap by the way), but about how to calibrate a Marquee that has so many flaws in the colorspace that it is not possible to correct or calibrate.
Please answer Didderns questions if you can.

And then wants me to prove calibration on a Marquee.?

I try to, but that doesn't take away that you have a real nasty habit of pissing people off in any state that your in. With you its almost second nature. But I'll forget this ever happened and leave you to it. So as far as I'm concerned we're even now.
Skål, btw.

( Interlaced ) |
You post 2 pictures of a green tube, one bad the other worse, then you start talking about calibration, what are you trying to point out.?
You dont have a CRT projector, and doubt anyone having one would want your advice on how to calibrate or mod it. |
This has nothing to do with the screenshots where one is defocused and one is not (but looks like crap by the way), but about how to calibrate a Marquee that has so many flaws in the colorspace that it is not possible to correct or calibrate.
Please answer Didderns questions if you can. |
Ahh so thats why he post a picture of a green only deom a 909 with the text standard, and 180Mhz.?
And then wants me to prove calibration on a Marquee.?
You digital guys are so logic. |
Stop this evation of questions.
Diddern asked you about the very bad linearity in the colorspace (and other flaws) of a Marquee 9500LC, and according to a well known calibration and CRT exper it is impossible to make look good. Especially when showing natural fleshtones. How do you correct these major flaws?

What do that have to do with the 2 green pictures.?, is that to show how bad green gamma is tracking.?
