It is not only the resolution, it is everything else as well. It is easy to se the JVC has more contrast, clarity, depth +++

I noticed JVC has much better and more vivid colors that of mine. CRT has its limitations it seems when looking at the smaller cars in the background. Digital does indeed appeal to me.
In all fairness, I have to much blue in this image as it was shot back when I was struggling to get the colors in order.

And What's your screen size do you have and gain. |
It's crap. The cheapest you can get and pure vinyl. Very soft and impossible to wash off any smudge. I should have saved up some more and gotten something with a material that's woven.
No gain that I can see or advertised.

What do you have for screen? Happy with it?
My pj is original except for the Frankenyokes. Those things are probably what makes it good. I see no other explanation.

I don't know about edited.. it's downsized to 1800 pixels in width and leave as is for the hight and post. All done in Paint.

Is it just as from the camera only downsized? If it is, it is the same way I do it.
I have a 3m wide 2.35:1 white matte screen with 1.0 gain and I have 3.7m seatingdistance to the first row.

I have one more request, if you have it on Bluray.. the Great Gatsby. Stunning scenery throughout the movie it seems. I haven't seen it yet as I waiting for some parts. I don't want to waste that movie and many others with standard parts.

I saved them before as jpeg, and that made about 650kb witch is to big to post so I make them 1800 pixels. But from now on I will save them as PNG and then make them 1800 pixels. But the real files from the camera is about 2-3 megapixels. If you like I'll mail them to you as I have nothing to hide.

This helps the black level on the Sony vw1100 I had, but on the jvcx500 I am not so shure anymore.
I saw Andreas white screen and the x500 looked even better and more clear. And black still compleatly black and more and less CRT shutdown to 0ire.
I guess you have the marquee 9500 LC. If that is so need to check it out. Looked much better than the barco 909 from pictures. If you forget the colours.

As for the x500 I think that most would be very happy with that pj.. me? I can't afford it without selling everything I own and just saved up for. So I'll wait patiently until 4K becomes affordable for the average man.
And for the life of me I can't understand how anyone could buy such an expensive pj like your 4k:s.. I figure you must take an enormous loss now. I saw one for 70000 SEK (about 10,000$) here in Sweden.. and that was over a year ago.
EDIT: Now I suddenly became unsure if was that price it went for. But when I saw it in the sell section in minhemmabio I thought to myself that it must have been a rich moron who sold it.

I have very good connections in Sony so the loss is not that big, even after 3 years, but of course we take quite a big loss. This is a hobby and some hobbies cost more than HT.
You donīt have to send me your originals as I have no intention in going in the details in this.I understand your interest in CRT and I have nothing against it, but I get fed up when people start threads like this and donīt back it up with fact and proof. If I ever see a CRT I find better than the digitals I have owned and seen I will have no problem admitting it, but so far that has not happened even with screenshots.

I agree that the digitals are sharper, but as for myself it's merely about how much sharper they are, and for that images like these can tell some about that and what we exchanged today. Those last request I have is just icing on the cake, but very interested in how they would look like without actually having to go buy it.

My God on the digital section someone who bought a x500 says the blacklevel is worse than barco 701!!! No a decent 9 inch is far better than a 701 so these blacks must be absolutely terrible 
Also in the screenshots look at the lack of detail in the face when you zoom. The crt has more resolution somehow the digital throw information away and cant reproduce it. You see all kinds of strange spicks in the fase apearing.
Don't fall for the marketing boys with the flat lifeless boring pics.
