You see; I moved the kick stand from right to left, and took some shots while doing it, and when I finished I just browsed through quickly and ignored the once that had discolouration in them, and without giving much thought about them at all, and I ultimately ended up with the worse one I could pick.
I feel stupid now for posting that, seeing how many pages was written about it because of it, but I'm new at photography so how am I suppose to know all that. And I honestly didn't see how bright the others were.
It wasn't until I posted the Das Bot shots yesterday I first noticed how dark they were. So it seems that by moving the camera around a bit one can make the shots look very differently.
However; Das bot shots were taken at seating distance so those shots may have yet another anomalie in them.
But I think you will see now, that my pj is far better at tiny details and/or showing them with a better light than those shown earlier. You and Diddern mat not change your mind about it, but it has for me.
If you like I can email you the originals and you'll see they were all shot at the same time. Right click and you get all the data needed. Or just take my word for it.
Have a look at the better once.. |
Your experience is PRECISELY why there are a host of people on here saying that using screen shots to evaluate a PJ is an utter waste of time. All someone needs to do is play around with exposure, film speed settings, camera location, etc. and they will get wildly different results. At the end of the day none of them come close to accurately displaying what is really happening on screen. |
You can include me in that host. Unless you are looking at specific test patterns, screen shots provide nothing more than a fun or frustrating activity... depending on who you are. In my opinion screen shots are a waste of time and that's why I hardly ever look at them and never post them.

Thus is true. The exception is there can be some virtue in them, but they should NOT be used for comparisons, when using two different shots, taking from two different cameras, that are of two different qualities at two different settings and locations. It is more of a fun/entertainment/hobby thing.
When I take screenshots, the camera captures only a part of what's on the screen. I've been using $99.00 Point/Shoot cameras. If I thought a screenshot could do more, I would have purchased a better or more expensive camera a long time ago.

All right Mike, that's a good response I certainly can see the fun in it.
I have a very hard time with some of the arguments where projectors are being compared to one another based on screen shots, viewed on various monitors, taken by different cameras, from different angles, on different setups. And then after that sorting through the photos to find ones that try to best represent the closest to what's on screen. That's obviously highly subjective, and also only represents how that particular photo looks on the monitor it is being sorted and viewed on. The way it looks on your monitor will be vastly different than how it looks on my notebook LCD.
...anyway blah blah blah. Sorry for butting in.
Have a good time you guys!

Here you can see some difference that will even be enormously bigger seen on screen.
But just to point some fact to what you see and how its shown. And how much MTF will destroy your CRT compared to a X500 JVC or other. Some pictures here can look very good, but in a side by side test it will look like sh*t.
The debt will be poor, sharpness poor, dynamic poor, Ansi Contrast, Intrascene Contrast, Simulation contrast and so on all factors and even Black and shadow detail. CRT is outdated in 2015 to new tecnology, and this topic is totally bull and have noting to do with reality. Just a sales trick to the faithful and rob their money away. FACT

Oh, so it's now Monday. And you're now back to being for screenshots. And if you stay on course, tomorrow you will be posting +1 to someone else who points out that screenshots should not be used for evaluation and comparisons..
But don't worry we've been on these roller coaster rides before. And we've also been down the digital is better path as well, many many many times before. We're only hoping you'd wake up one day and realize that we are doing CRT by CHOICE!!
Do you also hangout in turntable forums letting them know CD's exist and they are better?

But you haven't presented any facts so far. And since we're on one of your on days, why not post shots form your JVC showing what you were trying to point out with someone else's shots - show us what it should look like, since today you believe in screenshots.

And trust me I will gladly take the trip to Stridsvognen and help you to smell the coffee, stop writing bull. I do not start stupid topics that is so far from the fact and reality. I have stick to the facts all time , it only proves that I'm more right when you guys call me names and start to question me.
I have just wrote things back after getting stupid posts.
I did not tell you to stop your CRT thing, but just to say that it's even close or better than a digital in 2015.
That is not even possible with the poor MTF and Poor ansicontrast. And a guy Who started this topic just claims and clames, and can't even prove anything.
I have said before I will say it again, if Greg Eisemann wants to prove this to me here in Norway,me and others will gladly meet him and he will have the possibility to prove everything I say is wrong.
if in someway I have wrong I'll say it. I do not favor any brand or any technology I just favor the best picture possible in 2015.

No... we ain't doing anything until you first post shots from your JVC. The nerve of you to come here challenging us, and you have not presented anything that shows what you're saying about the JVC is better.
So how can you present FACT's without any facts..?

Really !!!!!!!see what you guys post and throwing sh*t, Haha. And all the knowledge to try to explain but it completely bull****, i'm not though true before writing.
I know how a CRT look like compared I can guaranty that.
And about the nerve to challenge you guys ""really"" a challenge?? To the guys who start this kind of topics and feel that I'm intruding. Because I also question this topic that is totaly bull****.
Listen to yourself ,you say that I can't say anything negative about a CRT on your forum? And that you can say sh*tty thing about Digital. People with some brain know that everything I have saied here is the fact.
And Do I need to? See what you have saied the last 100 pages, see what has been documented.
Who needs to prove that something is better is YOU guys.
Send up your soft flatt and un detailed picture and tell me what you can see form that picture.
What I have done is only to try to make you see the difference I see when comparing. And the difference is much bigger.
Pictures are worthless, and that some here can comment on how a projector or a CRT are just bull from a picture.
And black level hahahaha. From a picture.!!! Hahahaha

Still waiting on your shots.... you remind me of a race car driver that kept going to the race track. The only problem he had, was they would not let him enter the race without a car... he kept insisting how fast his car was, but they were adamant that until he showed up with a car, he's not qualified..
