Considering I've serviced over 500 digital projectors in the last 3 years, all varying levels of quality and ranging from low end to ultra-high end, yes I can safely say that every brand of digitals (especially Sony, Epson, and Hitachi) are very prone to failure. LCoS panel yellowing, power supply failure, mainboard failure, burnt polarizers, bad fans, fragile plastic chassis... most of them no older than 2008. Take your pick.

Curt has even pointed out on the Sony Qualia, a $28,000 projector, the design fault that is very well known that causes the Qualia to stop operating properly, and that was back in 2008 when the qualia was only 5 years old.

So yeah, your sh*t digital projector is going to die. Suck it up and move on.

Jeeze Jeremy, don't sugar coat it. Tell it like it is! Laughing

Bought two VW1100 just in case one breaks

Now i live with:

- not acceptable black levels
- motion problems
- cheap plastic case

Mr. Green

Don't forget, in 5 years - It'll be so out od date you wont want to use it, that is; if it lasts that long Laughing

You have a really God point there. Digitals don't last that long I forgot.
Why don't you tell some digital horror stories.

Thank you for letting me in on that, LOL That was well saied Suck it up and move on what about all you here in the idiotclub?
Forget Sony, forget all just have focus on one digital THE JVC X500X/X700. A Sony cant match a CRT in backlevel.

But can say that a JVC X500 can. So forget all 20000 50000 dollar PJ. The JVC X500 prize MUCH LESS THAN THAT.
and then you do NOT get lack of black........

Sure, that's what we've been saying all along, only you seem to resort to 720p and Optoma now over the 4K machine of yours that we really want to see.

In fact, post from the both you and earn some much needed credit. And if Andreas would do the same with shots from American Psycho, as he mentioned he might do earlier, than that will certainly earn him some goodwill.

Looking forward to see some shots from the both of you.

I did not have American Psycho so I could not post a screenshot from that move so I took this picture from Baraka. It is untouched only downsized to fit in this forum.

I put your in for comparison.

Cool, I appreciate it. Smile

Only, and I assure it's true, my zoom button got broken last week so I can't zoom out from your very large image.. could you try and make it smaller by having it be only 1800 pixels wide and whatever you feel like for hight? Even that is to big for me now but tolerable and hence the pixels I'm seeing in any-once pictures these days.

So, no one is coming after you if play along and post images. In fact, you should do it more often.

This has nothing to do with the projector. Send me a PM with your email and I will send you the uncompressed picture and you can see for yourself.

That's interesting how very pixelated mine looks.. I asked Redfox yesterday how I should save images in the future to avoid pixelation, or to at least reduce it, and was told to save with PNG from now on.

I have some images left in the camera so I can redo them later and also shot some new once while at it.

You should shot and post some to Strids.. all I've seen from you is test patterns and Laser discs.

There is also alot of banding in the picture from Baraka on the CRT, but I donīt think there is much banding in this movie even on a poor crappy digital.

Donīt play stupid. It is not a camera issue, this is taken with a good digital camera. It is only compression artifacts, just as the pixels and banding in the CRT pictures.
