You are zooming into a pic with some kb on YOUR LCD monitor = pixels on your side
Trust me those Pixels are not from that superb CRT projector. |
that is Clair pixels and NO kb because they are 1080P pixels. just to try to say sorting else on a crt lol
But the picture looked nice crt or digital.
I rest my case.
Have a nice day |
Still you don't post any wonderful digital images |
Do i need to??? alreaddy posted haha, I just say busted like always crt rock haha |

This has nothing to do with sharpness comparisons.
This is a digital screenshot posted as a CRT screenshot. And I only posted a screenshot of the VW1000 because someone asked for it and Diddern did not post...

Stunning looks of that digital! I like it a lot.
But cartoon always look good so try post some of mine - or whatever you please - and I'll try and match. Just so you know, I'm not attacking you or anybody else and you are entitled to whatever opinion you have about mine, be it digital enhanced or not, so go loose on me all you like, I just don't care.
Buuut.., I feel the need to rub this in some more so here's another screenie of American Psycho.

Here is a screenshot from the JVC X500. I have not taken it as almost never take screenshots, but it was posted in the JVC X500 tread on AVSForum. And as I own both the JVC X500 and Sony VW1100 I can stand for this picture taken by trans_lux on AVSForum.
This is also the last screenshot I will post as I have clearly stated what my view on screenshots is.

A bit lazy to steal someone else's just to get the rush of seeing me post the same thing, don't you think? Well, I do. You got to at least post some of your own to make it interesting.

The greatest joke of all:
- A screenshot is posted (presumably from a CRT projector)
- The picture is posted in JPG format
- Everyone seems to have forgotten that JPG isn't a lossless format
- Compression artifacts are misinterpreted as pixels
- Picture is identified as digital projector screenshot
BTW: Even if the picture was saved using a lossles format it still could have pixel-like structures due to the resolution limits of the digital camera used for taking the picture. In order to compare a FullHD-Picture with the ablility to distinguish a digital projection from a CRT the camera would need at least four times that resolution (> 8Mpixel) and an optimum alignment versus the screen...
Regards,
barclay66
P.S. and my conclusion:
For me it only matters if I like the picture quality that I see. If this is the case, then numbers, brands and features are irrelevant. Makes life much more simple!

Very Nice. Its obviously very sharp (Avatar). Is it any better contrast (or PQ since thats probably broader) than the CRT shots on this forum? I realise there are limits to taking screen shots but they apply to both digital and CRT alike so everyone is faced with the same issues.

As I clearly said I rearly take screenshots, and as I am at work I remembered this screenshot taken by trans_lux. I could easily said it was me who took it, but as I am an honest guy I told the thruth.
And I am aware of what we see can be compression artifacs and it probarbly is and I am not going to take alot of screenshots and post them here to create a Digital vs CRT screenshot war as it is pointless.

If you want to compare screenshots it is needed to be taken in the same room with the same screen and with the same camera and settings, then it can be used for comparisons. If not it is totally worthless as a screenshot can easily be manipulared to look better(blacklevel) than what is on screen.

Without screen shots we only have what people say about picture quality. Sure its not perfect but its better to see than to just read about someones impressions. Well thats my view.

Yes, if the person taking the screenshots knows what he is doing and donīt manipulate the picture you can get an idea, but if you want to compare you need to do what I said in my earlier post.

As far as I can see all of the rubbish input people have about what ever they are looking at is just rubbish. (Did I say rubbish). Anything anybody says about image quality is subjective so I am not sure why showing an image is less acceptable.
Sure people can cheat thats their problem if they have to sink to that level and can't be honest.

Well thats not possible we can't all use the same room etc but we could set a standard for screen shots. How to setup your Camera. If screen shots mean nothing then what value do personal comments about whatever someone says they are watching have?

Right, my images are saved as JPEG in Paint - after I selected them from Paintshop where I select the best once, as I have 3 different ways of focusing on my camera and I always shoot at least 3 of each: One that focus in on tiny things, one that focus in on a larger box in the middle and one that focus in on the overall image. For the most part I go with the middle box kind. And there could be some compression artefacts that could give them a digital touch to it, but I never thought about it until recently when innuendos were being tossed around.
Why I move them over to Paint is because I want to re-size them to 1800 pix width easy.

I have always been honest, and always will. To sink to that level will never happen.
I know what a 909 cine9 and a good Crt look like trust me.
What I want to know is how good a Crt can be and how close/far from today's tecnology.
Hope to see this if Greg Eisemann takes the trip to Norway.
And maybe can show a Crt 909 at its definitive best.
And for those that still don't know Crt have lines in picture not pixels😇
