If Aussie_Al sees this he if qualified to give an opinion on picture quality from both my XG and CineMAX, he has seen Red on bluray here a few weeks ago.

Yeah i think i did somewhere yeah. Just minor things really Keith, but with the apparent flagship machine i expect itll be perfect or closer to perfect than it is. I think i remember Spanky at some point posting a few months ago he would take a G90 any day, so he may also be able to shed abit of light on it with his experience too.

No question about the fact its a great machine, but there are enough short comings to drop it down a notch.

Mine was only because of all the issues I had with the Barcos. Curt has said that others aren't as bad. Craig has also given me his reasons which IIRC he outlined in my thread three years ago. I should add that I am slightly biased as I just picked up another G90 two weeks ago, so I now have two G90s and two G70s. Mr. Green

Oh and on the Moome, I see it is an external. Maybe that makes a difference. I have never compared them, but I do remember Mark_A_W saying RGB out from his HTPC was better than the Fury or Moome cards in his opinion.

Yes, and in my experience mate i feel he is correct there.

My CineMAX has always worked without a hitch, but its these little things that take away from the experience.

This is my thread from a couple of years ago. Craig and MP weigh in on both the Barco and G90.

Cheers mate Smile

So where did you end up with it all apart front 2x G90s?

I was interested to see you thought the menus were so advanced, how would you compare them to those in the XG? I wouldnt say either one was any more sofisticated than the other, but the XG is much quicker and easier to navigate.

Life got in the way and I never got a chance to play with the Barcos enough to get a good feel for them. Plus, there was always problems with them. Since I started on the NECs, I always felt most comfortable with their menu, but I could see the potential with Barcos. If one wanted the best and probably where this was headed, then you could try using something like the GEO Tahoe chip. I saw it at VDC four years ago in an evaluation board. You could do damn near anything with it.

As for the fate of the Barcos, I sold one to Niktec and the other three to Curt. You would have to ask them what there eventual fate was.

TV/Projector: All of them!

I've sold one, one sale is pending, and one ended up with Craig as a test set. All of those 909s had massive issues, all needed massive amounts of work, and one had a bad controller board.

It's funny, I've talked with several flight simulator companies that all agreed that the earlier 909/919s had issues, and Barco ended up swapping out a bunch of sets in earlier installations, but the later ones are solid as a rock. Of course, if they're working fine, I don't ever hear about them. Smile

Since I've almost sold out of G90s, it looks like I may need to put up a 909 or two next year in my own HT. (of course I've been saying that I'll work on my own HT for the last 4 years, so just ignore that last sentence. )
