Im running mine without ext ps. no idea if it makes any difference,

It makes a big difference. Not using the external power means there's no extra voltage to dump. The main reason for the external power is to provide enough current for the output drivers to handle long HDMI cables. If you're using short lines and can get away without, you're in really good shape.

just turned it on when reading this 1 hour ago, and its still Cold. Ill try let it be turned on the rest of the day.

Excellent. I don't recall a single Amazon reviewer even trying it w/o the power supply, though I see some ebay sellers are selling them without any.

Its running hdmi in from my Radiance, and 2x hdmi out, one to my VP50, and another directly to the moome Card, with 7m hdmi cable, no problem.

Sounds good. Thumbs Up HDMI outs from devices not as robust as the Radiance may not fare as well.

It worls fine direct out of my oppo 83 to, its been turned on all eavening now, no hint of heat.

Im now running it with my Calibre Vantage HD2, and its working fine there to, running 1080P24 hdmi in and 1080P 60hz out RGBHV.

I think this is a great solution for those that have a DVDO VP 50 or something like that to get RGBHV out without having to input downscaled component. But get native BD resolution into the processor, and select any wanted output resolution. Converting less for less signal loss.

I sure would have loved to have this one when i started playing with CRT.

The only reason i can see at the moment, to prefer the moome Card, is so that i can run 72hz with my Radiance, all other scalers are limited to 1080P 60hz

I hope to get the Crystalio 2 3800 next weeek, then ill test it with that to.

Sounds great!!! im quite glad i stumbled across it now..... a few people run these naked in a well ventilated area and have no issues, from what i do understand some still fail no matter how well you look after it ... but in saying that they have a 1 year warranty and only cost 15-30 bucks depending were you find it....

Now i need to find myself a decent scaler...for less that a few hundred but i might need the usa guys to help me out as there is stuff all available over here in Australia,,,

All have analog RGBHV output.

I just need to find a old Lumagen HDQ, then i think i have all the video procesors i need.. Laughing

i was testing my stripper on a friends setup a few days ago, and had some problems.

It was working fine for about 30 min, first the audio started to change format, later the blu ray player locked up.

I removed the stripper and everything worked perfect.

I was running HDMI from a Lexicon BD30 (OPPO 83 )into the stripper, and HDMI out to a DVDO VP30, and HDMI 2 out to a Lexicon MC12.

I just tested it at home again, with my OPPO 83, no problem..

Did you try plugging in the external power supply? That may have made a difference.

I ordered one off Amazon just for the hell of it. I'll plug it into my QD780 when it gets here and let you guys know what it reports. I suspect that it will report no HDCP though.

There are also a lot available on the USA eBay site. Amazon only has one more left right now.

I got the one from Amazon in the link I posted above, and it does indeed strip HDCP. However, I had some digital noise when using it with some of my cables, and it seems to report a generic EDID which makes my Blu-Ray player want to output at 1080p-60 all the time... Haven't really had too much time to play with it though.

My HDQ won't take 1080p/60, only 1080p/24, which it doesn't like to put out through the stripper.

Do you use the ext ps.?

My OPPO have no problem sending 1080P 24 hz.

I can test it on my Denon 4010 and my Sony 5000 blu ray players to.. what player are you using.?

The best thing with this stripper is the price, and if not working with the device used, no one cry if you have to put it in the trash

Pioneer BDP-62FD. Like I said, I haven't had hours and hours to play with it, but it seems that whenever I run through the stripper to my HDQ with 1080p/24 enabled in the player, and then switch the player output to either 1080p or auto, it outputs in 1080p/60.

Outputting straight to the HDQ results in a 1080p/24 signal to the HDQ. I then use the moome box at the end of the chain to handle HDCP.

Oddly enough, I sometimes get an image out of this from the HDQ, and it states that it's inputting at 1080p/60, though there is severe image corruption when this happens. I'm surprised it even accepts the signal though, given this is far outside the capabilities of the HDQ. Other times it just states no input when this occurs.

When running 720p through the stripper though, I do get sparkles and lines at times with certain cables, when running through my moome box with the same cables shows no issues.

Yes. And either output port results in noise with certain cables. Other combinations of cables result in less or no noise, but all of my cables work with my other devices, just not with the splitter / stripper in the chain.
