|
|
So I was scoping ebay one day for broken receivers to find one to fix up and what not. Came along a Denon DRA-697CI that looked pretty good condition wise. The problem with it was no sound from either speaker. I figured for $35 shipped how could I go wrong? There are parts on it that I could use at the very least.
So I bought it, and today it arrived. I took it out of the box and unwrapped it, it looks like brand new! Even better! I took it over to the counter, plugged it in, threw a pair of speakers on Speaker A terminals.
I turned the receiver on, everything came on perfectly normal, so I was happy to see that. Then I noticed that the speaker switched on was Speaker B. before I plugged my speakers in, I noticed that speaker A terminals were unscrewed, so I assumed the seller only tested on speaker A terminals.
I pressed speaker B to turn them off, pressed Speaker A to turn them on, and to my delight, sound! It works perfectly!
I figure its about time I get a deal! Some of these things can be real pains in the ass. One that looks like brand new and sounds pretty damn good and has some heft to it makes it all the better!
Me +1 Seller +0

Ok guys, so here's a fun activity: Come up with an 'audiophile' description that you'd write on the customer's bill justifying the $150 you'd charge for that 'repair' if you owned a high end stereo store...

How is that? Do I have a future in your billing department?
