4K resolution on a game console is a joke if ever I heard one.

Big E, its only really retro gamers that still use CRTs, there is no need for a CRT on newer consoles that have their games in 1280x720 or more.

Tell that to Sony

The new ps4 will be able to output 4k but the games won't be 4k

I am using my ps3 with my crt projector in 720p(no input LAG is one benefit of crt for gamers)

Im refering to games in 4K, that is an extremely big ask for even a pair of the most powerful video cards.

They are kidding themselves if they think a $500 console will ever do it well in this generation.

I thought the same thing but it hasn't been released yet so I don't know the price yet(release date sometime in December)

I don't believe Sony or Microsoft ever announced or implied 4k games. Only 4k movies are being discussed as that is the only 4k content available at this time.

I might add that I am not sure I would want 4k games any time soon. The amount of resources to develop a 4k game might make the game to expensive or limit the amount of other titles that are developed.

On 4k CRT resolving, I am not sure if it will sync to the resolution or not. Resolving is always about MTF and what you are satisfied with.

Simply cause it may make a game expensive is no reason not to want it done, game prices havent changed in 15 yrs, so they will have to go up sooner or later. PC games can be run in much higher than 4K in terms of multiple displays.

On sync, NoosXP said a few weeks ago he did it on a Marquee.

The ps3 games are not cheap now compared to some but it is true to get quality games as have to pay the price

They generally max out at $99.95c AUD here, and have done for many years.
