it vaporizes fast and it does not dry the parts out.
The beamer is off for an hour of 13. is that enough to completely drain the quad ?
because of the 34.7Kv and warning for radiation in the metal shield.
what is the minimum waiting time to be able to remove these parts without killing yourself by accident ? |
If its been off for 13 hours there should be no risk. Has it been disconnected from main power?? Make sure it was not on standby. I would have the power cord removed from the projector. |
Yes , last night i just shut it down via the remote, pushed the standby button and removed the main power supply plug.

i am test running the beamer right now, again just a tv source.
I went on , so that was a good sign. the ticking you hear in the tubes when turning it on.
was a lot softer sound and it was faster than it was before. ( i hope you guys understand what i ment )
the image is good and sharp, (still) but now i am going to run it for 3 hours , or until the hard tick comes back.

I ran ther projector for about 3 hours , no bad noises of hard ticks. a little crackle as you come very close to the beamer . you almost have to put your ear against the lid.
so i am positive. and going to continue setting the beamer up. there has been a lot of tweeking on the H and V dails on board. and also inside the beamer.
is there like a reference picture for how a test pattern should look without setting anyting via the remote controlles
just hardware adjustments.
( is it better to just delete all setting in the beamer and start from scratch ? )

I would remove all blocks and start again.
There shouldn't be any noise other than perhaps the start up HV crackle. After that I would expect no HV related noise.
