Hi guys,
Nice to see some other 10PG activity here lately. Thought I was the only one left.
I've been seeing some very slight up and down movement in my picture recently. Slight as in barely noticeable. Frequency seems to be pretty fast - 50-60 Hz. Running 1080P through a DVDO VP30 and a HDFury v1.
I'm the second owner of this machine (originally bought from David Bott aka AVSForum founder) and it has seen low usage. I've had it for 6 plus years. I've investigated, and been advised to recap the boards, but I hesitate to do so since the machine works. Grandpa's advice of, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' seems prudent.
However, if this is a capacitor issue, it seems reasonable to buy a replacement board with better caps, or a spare and recap it myself. I'm just not sure which board it may be.
Any advice?

First you should find out what is actually moving: the image inside the raster (raster don't move) or the raster moves also. Are the test patterns moving as well? Have you tried any other resolution than what you usually use?

The capacitor issue is with every board with electrolytic capacitors, so buying a replacement board is probably not going to work. Then again, the replacement board probably has the same capacitors.
Up and down movement may have to do with the connectors from the deflection yokes. No experience, but just read that a few days ago on this forum. I tried the search function, but can't seem to find it

Deflection yoke connections usually cause sideways movement.

True but don't it depend on which yoke connection there are ones for horizontal and vertical on the yokes(I had to flip mine around for floor setup on my 10pg since I don't feel comfortable with the 200 pound beast hanging from the ceiling YET (I wouldn't mind a 100 pound projector but most are 7 inch sets)

Take this advice and use it wisely
RECAP your nec before it posiblely fails on you(trust me on this I know from experience)
I am in the works of getting some spare boards to find out which board has caused my no video and convergnce grid problem i am going to recap the culprit when I find it  as I hate to have something I can't use
Mine worked find for two whole days then the convergence grid(and video input image)started twitching a little in the corner a half hour later all I seen was a faint green glow(it wasn't my tubes either as they are near mint)
Trust me save yourself the headache of doing it later and don't put it off thinking you won't have a problem recap the set before it gives issues(and definitely before you ceiling mount as it can be hard to work on once its mounted to the ceiling)
I didn't think I would need to do mine but I ended up with the issue I just described and can't enjoy the sets bright beautiful picture till I do believe me NOT fun
Luckily I have a electrohome Ecp 4101 I can use till I get my 10pg back up and running(if the high voltage power supply doesn't die before I do(praying it doesn't but lately the tubes dim on bright images which I know is a grime outlook for the high voltage power supply(hopefully the replacement I am getting from curt will arrive before it does(I hope the USPS hurries)
I got mine from a member on this forum and it has barely 2000 hours(the hours the set and tubes have been used doesn't matter its how long the set HASN'T been used) who didn't use it much after he got it(doc Hollywood was the member for those who may know him(I surprised him my wealth of knowledge about these sets considering I have got only two so far(used to use projection tvs that was crt of course I had nothing but the best picture from them and I wanted that in a projector so you can guess the rest 
It may work for a day or two it may work for a week before it gives you troubles but it will sooner or later(most likely sooner rather then later)

Test patterns are not moving. Well, the coarse crosshatch that I tried.
Also seems that the movement stops after the PJ warms up a bit. Have not tried other resolutions yet.
This is a very slight up and down motion. About 1/4" or so on a 12 foot diag screen.

Mine did like this(it started on the red tube) next thing I know no picture don't use the projector till you recap the beast if it does the movement on other resolutions(voice of experience talking here trust it)
