I will also edit my first post, so that both and future videos will be there for easy access.

Yes, like said in the text last night and the video - all refresh rates and aspect ratios. I was just missing time, and wanted to save bandwidth on a single CRT. Massive content video should come in the next 72 hours, and also the how to´s.

Well 4Ki @48 Hz has about 54kHz scanrate, may need some extra porches, but surely will fit in the 69kHz scan limit and there it goes Very Happy

You think? LOL But that's not the point, old 7" ES sets are blurry at 1080i, yet many people used it that way Very Happy

PS. I am not planning to upgrade to 4K anyt ime soon, just courious if it the pj can lock to that Smile

The Nokia test pattern generator! Very Happy Honestly, I think my PC isn't up to 4k material playback at all. Now I have tried to send 4k to the pj, but the driver limited the maximal resolution at 1600x1200 (however I have no problem with 1920x1080)

Youll need some sort of program to allow sending anything more than 2048x1536 I reckon, mine goes that high but the CRT monitor will only display 1920x1440p @60Hz, would be interesting to see what interlaced resolutions I could get out of it with it's 203MHz bandwidth! Wink

They way I unlock 4k, all your PC´s will do 4k progressive. It is only locked by Windows/the driver. My first tests where made with a GTX280, my last series on a Nvidia 7900GTX - it is an old 7 series!. But I wanted to use it, as it offers hardware edge enhancement via an own chip. Later generation of Nvidia cards skipped this chips.

A NEC PGX has high rez tubes, and HD145 lenses. I would like to see the comparison in resolution to a 8500 Ultra on HD8. Also the spot size compared to plain LCP 9500/Ultra tube is very good on a PGX, but sure the tube size....
I fact I have a 6PGX here - but it had no air bubble so I started working on it and never finished. If no one else can test a Xtra, I will shoot some pictures, you then tell me what belongs where in the NEC, and I will do a 4ki test on it.

Now, my new test sereis. I had no time to cut all parts together, but so I can skip very fast through my projectors. The first videos will show my very good 1272 running with 1920x800i48 vertivcal and horizontal, then 2560x1080i48. Let me say, in 2560 the desktop looked fine/ok, but it made no sense to increses resolution:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?vv=8FZS6ILIetE&list=PLhLp7Kp-iLM3iKXCfHT9C39f1Ys7WWnUi&index=8

Ok gentleman, I hope you like quize games. What projector do I use in this videos. He is "King of Resolution" so far, and shows content/scan lines 3840x1600i48!!! Close to distracting, but nothing horizontal and Win Desktop looks ugly...

Just some final words (only for now):
Yes, the 8500 Ultra will be next.
A 1080p win desktop feels like VGA/480p now, after having tried higher resolutions. There is no stepping back, not wih PC usage. There is so much content now in one window....
I am sure many medium grade stes will not fully resolve 2560 or 3200 horizontally, but they will be fun to use with an PC. The future is now - as even a good ES set might blow a 720p digital if a user can live with a softer 2560x1080i or 2560x1440i. It is a differnt experiance!

Regards

Marc
