Hey, I use a GeForce 7950GT, how to unlock the driver, I have tried with powerstrip, but topped at 1600x1200 whatever I tried...
The mysterious projector must be that old sony beast Isn't there any possibility to increase it's bandwidth?

Jupp, right. HDIH 20000 with Nikkon lenses from 1989 brings 4ki on the screen. Sadly the the bandwith is too low, but the optical Nikkon system seems to be worse tha hassle of a transplantation into a Marquee. I am looking forward to see screenshots of HFQ lenses doing 4ki.
How to will come very soon....

I may have missed it, but how did you say you unlocked the resolutions in the nVIDIA driver?

Nvidia allows custom resolutions and timings in the nvida control panel.

My first tests where made with a GTX280, my last series on a Nvidia 7900GTX - it is an old 7 series!. But I wanted to use it, as it offers hardware edge enhancement via an own chip. Later generation of Nvidia cards skipped this chips.

I also use 7900 GTO (practically same card), gives a better pic than 285gtx and gtx670 that i have in my gaming computer.
thanx for your efforts, pls continue.

Bad new for ATI users. I just had a visit . We had several ATi based systems here, and none worked past 2720 horizontally (but all aspects). We continue to focus on Nvidia now - we do not want to go public before we know what reasons can avoid 4k or itīs interlacion - because it happens if tiny things are not taken care of.
The "how to" is planned to be online tomorrow evening/night, CET - if erverthing is working as intended.
So when the night casts itīs shadow over the turing globe, 4ki will flash over tubes worldwide simultanously.
8500 Ultra videos in 48hz and 72 hz are online, and I will link them to the forum as soon as I am again at my youtube PC

I would love to know when any ati video cards can put out 4k for my media pc
My MacBook Pro has a nvidia chipset and could possiblely do 4k if I can get a VGA to displayport adaptor(would need to check the driver)

I used to know how to make custom resolution myself, and tried to make 3840x816@60Hz interlaced.. but nah..the computer wouldn't allow me.

Well, even their driver is bad news for their users, so what isn't?
Ever since catalyst disaster centre has been introduced I can't use that shite.

Hey Marc,
any progress on the project ?
What NVIDIA card are you using ?
How to set these custom resolutions ?
Is here a direct way (analog out) to output 4K interlaced ?
cheers

http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU
Download Custom Resolution Utility 1.1 and create any kind of resolution you like.
I have interlaced 3840x1600@60Hz@200.52Mhz that I have been meaning to try on the projector just for fun, and many more, but some of my parts are sent out for up grade so are struggling with those numbers to work on my HP L2335 in the meantime. 2560x1080@60Hz is another one to try.
The monitor specs often makes the image go black, and I have to wait for it to go back to the last working resolution, but sometimes it works. Sometimes it works, but the image has shifted to either side very much and gotten distorted. And that's why I'm getting a 144Hz monitor to make everything work much smoother, but that's many months from now, as I got other things going at the moment.
There are also the ASUS 4K 28 inch monitor coming out in a few months and might get that one instead, it's only 200 $ more over the 144Hz version.
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2014/01/07/asus-pg278q-g-sync-pb287q-gaming-monitor/1
Or this one, which is very cheap. But don't know how high that monitor will go refresh rate wise, haven't found any data on that yet. It's cheap, but limited to only 30Hz with 4K.

For nVidia owners: You must first delete GeForce Experience. Otherwise your created resolutions wont appear in the nVidia resolution center later when you restart the computer.
The latests drivers, version 331, never worked with me before, as I don't seem to be able to fill the raster almost all the way to the end, but with the 327.23 version I can, so I always go with that one myself.
I'm obsessed with 96Hz so I mostly play around with those numbers to lower the pixel clock. I got 1920x817@96Hz down to like 175/182Mhz now, down from 202Mhz, but have no idea if it works properly with the pj. But will give it a go as soon as my parts are back from up grade.
With CRU you see all the numbers, and they automatically change when others are changed, so that makes it very easy to work with. I usually start with a fixed refresh rate, and work around that, or start with a fixed pixel clock and work around that. You can only have 4 at a time but you could take screen prints and take notes on what works and what does not.
My computer is a i7 with 4Gb RAM and GeForce GT430 1Gb
Don't get to technical with me I'm just saying it's a wonderful program to work with.

Funny, because I wanted to post a non gaming solution the 31th of December, that could allow all of you to generate testpatters and probably watch 4k test material. But I was lacking time, sorry. So thanks to the wolfman for posting parts of the solution. I doubt I will work to interlace for many systems that way, but using CRU is essential and removing Nvidia Experiance is a nice find! But progressive should work for most.
All users trying this, please report when faild or succeded if your CRT was connected analog or digital and your graphic card.
My (simple but problem solving) non gaming solution that will go public soon allows analog output to a pixel clock/ramdac of 400 (sometimes a bit more), and be able to interlace past 1920 horizontal (did go up/past 5000 ).
So yes, (with the wolfman post) you should be able to interlace everything to 1920 horizontal and infinitive vertical, and do 4k progressive to the limit of the connection (pixel clock / RAMDAC). That means also 1920x2160i, one half of 4k /UHD blend without blend zone. But you should not be able to go beyond 1920 while interlacing, and only digital!
So much for now, but more incoming....
Edit: And ATi will never go past 2720 horizontal while interlacing, but that should work!

Hi! I'm trying to watch the youtube video's but when i click a link I go to the main youtube page. Is there another way to find these video's you've made?
Also one other stupid question what do you mean with blend resolutions?

You are welcome!
I just repaired the links. I deactivated them a time ago worldwide, but now only via Curtpalme....
Blend resolution means one part/resolution of a two projector setup. 3840x1600 would result in 1920x1600 per projector plus some horizontal for the blend zone (projected images overlap).
