With the P16 tubes, the ones used in the NECs and G70, the lower type number means the better tube, also Panasonic made.
P16LJE07 > P16LJE08 > P16LJE09
Just thought worth to mention.

Actually I was wrong about the prefix.

With the Lexel made HR tubes, the full tube ID is 9LP19LCP09(color code)

Not 09, 9L. Which I presume indicates the special electron gun assembly.

Based on my experiences, the Panasonic P19LCP03(color code) vs P19LCP07(color code) are the same except for pin
assignments. On the 03, G2 is on pin 6. On the 07s that are in my personal HT machine (tubes from AmPro stock), pin 2 is on G6, like a LUG.

I can't speak for the intricacies of Panasonic's entire CRT model number coding system, but from what I'm seeing, the numbers after the group of 3 letters indicate physical configuration changes.

I can say that while I've always been satisfied with the sharpness and picture quality of my HT projector, I have never been able to get it as sharp as the screenshots I've seen of Marquees equipped with LUGs.

Now that I have no shortage of LUG tubes to work with, and the HR tube set as well, I'm going to do some interesting comparative experiments, as I mentioned earlier.
