A remote shouldn't be hard to find.

To evaluate the tubes, you can first look though the lenses. If the tubes look bad (dark burn) than you know you can pass on this projector. If the tubes look good through the lenses, then it's a good idea to remove the lenses to have a really good look. If you see no wear than you have a great set. If you see slight wear and it's near the edges you still may have usable tubes.
