For 3 days i have been trying to get a decent grayscale on my new 9500LC ULTRA, but i have serious problems..

No matter what i have done i cant make the green run with red and blue.. it will always be brighter from 30-80% IRE, i have changed all boards, so im left with tubes, lenses, neck boards on red and blue, and motherboard.

everything else have been tested with known working boards.

Have anyone had problems like this before.?

Edit:

The problem was a PT22 green tube, it dont have the same gamma response. Solution was a new Green tube.

Maybe it's a problem with the sensor. How old is it?

Its a I1Display pro. its maybe 1-1½ year old.. Working fine with other projectors/ screens.

And the problem is easy visible on a gray ramp, what confirms what i measure.

I Wonder what happens when the glycol gets older.? what is the result of yellow glycol .?

Did you try to use the Lumagen to correct the green?

Well, that makes a lot of sense.
But I don't understand, when you play with green gain or cutoff on the projector, what happens to the graph?

I cant make it right no matter how i set it, i can turn Down green G2 and get a ok mid level, but hen my Black color balance is way off.. so creen have that curve shape no matter what i do.. I have wonderet if it was focus related, but that dont change much, if anything.

But I wasn't talking about G2.
I was talking about gain and bias controls for each colors, I don't know how they are called on the EH.

Really?! Embarassed
So what do they call the real G2?

In Barco models G2 is not adjusted with the RC but with a screwdriver.

Ohh on the EH we have a remote.. Razz for further answers you need to Consult a expert.. lol

There is no screwdriver adjustmet on a 9500LC that i know off.

I'm pretty sure there are things you can adjust with a screwdriver on any decent CRT. Cool
In my BG1209S and previous BG808S, the black level G2 is adjusted using a screw driver.
Besides that you have gain and cutoff controls for each color in the RC.

I guess my Barco experience is not enough to help you here.

We might have to wait and see what happens when they wake up in Burgerstan.. Wink

It might be some cheeseburger leftovers in the glycol from when they made it.. Question

No idea.. have tested a lot of settings, but blue G2 is around 20 i guess and drive 65. But that depends if its with a line mod on the vim or not, it makes a lot of difference in the G2 settings.

I dont think it has much to do with the settings, more something else.. And i Wonder what efect yellow glycol have on the calibration.. I think all settings have been tested with all kinds of focus adjustments and so on.. just that the curve form of the green color stays the same.

Dont think to much about the pic of the calibration, it was just to display that green wont follow the same curve.. Normaly its blue running off. but thats normal.

Hello

Start over with CONT 45, BRITE 45, Red Drive 30, Green Drive 90, Blue Drive 30 and all G2s 60, and see if this becomes easier.

Thanks Tim..

I think i tested your settings, but ill give it a shot again. Just something wierd.. with all the non ultra boards in i cant turn brightness over 0 or it will shine all day.. It comes with the old controle board with firmware 4.0, but dident behave like that at all in my non ultra.. Is that normal.?

Have you removed both Contrast and Acon boards from the slot above the CLM?

Its the Glycol. it should not be yellow Kurt.

Take a pic of the blue tube with no lens if you can.

I do not think it is any of the boards.

I found calibrating these later model marquee's that you have to approach them differently than the older ones. Something Changed but I have no idea what. I also tried starting with tims numbers but thats not the way.

You'll get it but it will take many different attempts at G2 and drive settings.

oh and one other thing. the i1 Pro does not read well for red at low IRE's it is not a stable reading. So I would Profile the i1
to a tri stimulus probe for the low IRE's.

I never use the i1 Pro for calibration just to profile my 1 one D3 probe. This way the D3 is as accurate as the i1 but it reads more stable at lower light levels.
