i used the lc housing from my old tube and spliced the anode feed (cut it before i got the new tube) but i followed the steps curt has on splicing the anode wire

could it be possible the anode feed needs to be repliced?

the odd thing is the set did power up with the red tube disconnected one time (and showed a really nice image on screen with no image burn on the green and blue tubes) i unplugged it after that power up(thinking all was well) and went to power it up again before i reconnected the tube(both anode wire and neck board) and i get the no picture and code 3 flashing on the power light weird

so i connect the tube(both anode feed and neck board) same code

the odd thing is i can hear the hv cage crackle up as if the set is trying to turn on but it doesn't

so far parts replaced red tube(obviously) and red and green neck boards

i did set the screen knobs on the new boards to the same position as the ones on the old boards before i put them in the set

during the initial power up after the neck board replacement i did change the channel or see if the set responded to the remote or controls on the front

i am wondering if the tube failure didn't mess up another board besides the neck board? since there is a cable going to the power board(along with some power wires) there is a cable from the green neck board going to the main board also but no other wires

other then that i can't figure it out Confused

update i think the convergence amp board has died (it made a squealing noise) i tried to power up the set but i get a error 3 blink code and no picture again Mad but i found it online (not cheap) now every time i try to power up the set it makes the squealing noise with the error 3 code

weird thing is i can hear the flyback start to kick on before the set flashes the error code

already tried
removing the red and blue neck boards and anode feeds
turning the screen knob down for the red tube(adds a extra code)

i currently have the set put back together till i can get the part

forgot to mention i had the red tube yoke disconnected the first time i tried to power up the set Embarassed i guess that had something to do with its failure

odd that the set powered up and worked for a few minutes (the failsafe kicked in and shut the set down not long after)

good news is the replacement neck boards got rid of the other error code

i know think i figured out what caused the tube to fail the same thing that is happening to the ned xg projectors i am surprised it didn't take out all three tubes

going to order the convergence amp board next week to see if the set powers up
