So far I have not experimented much with the Enhance menu, other than a bit of dynamic contrast which kills the shadow details. With my players I've always defeated all the picture controls and gone source direct, except the occasional small increment in sharpness on the Oppo for a bad disc. In the Radiance I find the multitude of sharpness controls a bit daunting.

What settings do you use?

I don't use anything for BD or other very high quality sources.

For cable or Sat you can use some enhancements to fix the image, but I have never found the sharpness enhancements very helpful. I usually stick to the noise reductions and set them to about level 3-5 depending on content quality.

I have played with sharpness and noise reduction, and don't find any use for any of them, actually i would prefer a minus sharpness and detail setting.

I think softening the Picture a bit makes bad quality DVD and stuff less annoying

Thanks guys.

I was watching Aliens the other night and the blacks were elevated and it needed more punch -- so AdaptContrast set to 1 was perfect.

Watched the Hobbit last night and it looked great! I think I will leave most of the controls alone.

However, I am still experimenting with different Gamma factors. Do you calibrate the Radiance to 2.2 (with the setting at 1.0) and then use the Gamma correction factor in the Radiance to get 2.3 (setting at 1.04) and 2.4 (setting at 1.08)?

I calibrated my Blend to 2.33 and then on some dark movies set gamma factor to .97 or .98 to help with the low end details.
