Serious cleaning. checked all projectors and they all work. Only have 1 or 2 controller boards that need to be checked, all other components work flawless.
I'm still looking for a set HFQ900 and RGB end stages that are not 90degrees turned. Shoot me a PM if you can offer me some.
Pictures Cool

Progress:

One unit was used for spare and only for testing boards. New P19LUG dated 2002 were still in it, but in 90c housings, so did mayor job to cut them out and re-glued them in horizontal housings. They have to dry now for 2 weeks. Then new glycol and new red and green C-elements will be installed.

Question: does some of you have RB909 or RBL909SP or maybe SEOS controller software? I want to try to bring a dead controller back to life. Please shoot me a PM.

Hi,
I took a look at the ones I have and they are completely different. Obviously I didn't think of the differences between a BG808s and the BR909. Sorry...

Hi Barclay,

That is 60Mhz difference to be exactly Smile
one of the things why a BR909 can handle 3200x2560.

@Motobias, you are funny Laughing Didn't you mean what a space you have there? Easy to access when you need to test something Wink And the more space a wire have the less interference it will have with other components etc. That's why Barco kept the video chain far away from power supply's. Take a closer look at the board components tray. I think Barco made a very good design for performance and maintenance. Try for example to clean a Sony G90 or Marquee Shocked or easy change a board to test Shocked

Could you post pictures of the chassis.

Are the tube mounts sideways or are the tubes sideways?

Hi km987654,

The tubes are mounted 90 degrees turned, the LC chambers scheimpflug is also turned 90 degrees.
visualize that the optical head stands vertical tubes are then horizontal above each other, scheimpflug can be adjusted top bottom this way.

Nope normal as any other 909 only tubes are fitted 90 degrees into chassis and LC chambers front is rotated 90degrees.
scheimpflug from left to right when projector head stands vertical and tubes are horizontal.
Actually software is from SEOS meaning little more adjustments and different vertical board.

Actually, I think this orientation is very useful if you plan to use it on the floor.

Hi I'm setting Astig as for installing the new tubes. Green and Red are done but....
Anyone knows why I can't adjust blue focus?
I have no I2C errors and blue and red can be adjusted using midpoint focus controls 0-99
Also blue controls function from 0-99 but the blue tube does not react on the adjusting.

Already changed focus coil on blue and convergence tray to see if the problem came from focus coil or Focus board. But no changes unfortunate
Do I miss something here?

Maybe the Focus board itself ?

Have you interchanged that with another one ?

Well Holiday came in between and other things but she's been lifted to the ceiling and few adjustments have been done so far.
- Mechanical Astig adjustments
- correct master voltage 17,3
- max horizontal raster
- right distance with max fosfor use on my 280cm wide screen
- mechanical focus
- repairing PSU of Crystallio II

what need do be done?
- alignment projector and fixating
- scheimflug
- convergence tweaking etc. etc.
- tweaking with Crystallio II
- ISF color calibrating
- convergence of different sources and resolutions

Blending is out of the question because I sold all other 3 chassis.

Does anyone know what can cause these tremulous letters?
If you watch closely on the small square in the video.
Only red and blue have this issue after warming up. At start all is fine but after a while the whole image is tremulous.
Green has no issues.

It's difficult to see with refresh rate and focus of my Iphone5 but you can see that on the little square pixels are moving and on green the are still.

The Barco is simply shivering because it must project the word "NEC" that many times! Cool

Maybe it is a bad connection somewhere.

Disconnect the two jumpers between the controller board and the convergence board and see if it stops.

Will try this Curt.
Yesterday I did convergence and even after 2 hours the problem of tremulous letters didn't show anymore and all was fine hmm strange.
What I did noticed is that the center of the image is still, and the sides left en right move a bit, very slightly thow. It's like the whole image is squeezing in/out 1 or 2 mm
