Did you swap the power supply?

Yes Case, I swapped all boards (incl. controller whole convergence tray) tubes, splitter, EHT, quad etc.
Only thing I didn't swap is the mainframe motherboard, still the line appears on the Split pack unit and doesn't on test chassis (front PJ 909) with the same hardware. It must be something related to the chassis or mainframe/board.
I will put some old lug's in it and try to see if the ABL potentiometer on vertical board mod will help.
I also ordered all new caps for horizontal board to replace them. I hope it will give more stability to the horizontal board.
All help and suggestions are very appreciated.

Ok have learnt more about split pack. The main board of a plain 909 is different. I swapped and it gives fan failure, also saw a resistor on the back of the main board under one of the fan inputs.
But more important the ABL showed with this board as well. Now I think it's chassis related maybe because of the cable extensions or the connector plates/boards that trigger this somehow.
I also did the modification on the vertical board and removed the two 000 resistors under ABL lines position and fitted the 20k potentiometer, adjusted it nothing happens Sad
I'm going to leave it as is for now as it is not within 16:9 image.

When you swapped the main board what connector was there to connect the two fans from the tube unit? I was looking into that but there was one 'extra fan' connector but did you connect two fans there?
I mean the Cine 9 has 3 back fans but the split has 5.

Very disappointing that that abl pot did not work. It is a timing issue so like you said perhaps a longer cable or a cable with more capacity might shift the whole image a bit ???

What about the controller firmware versions. Are they the same on each projector? Are the various boards all the same version? They may have the same part number but be a different version modified by Barco.

I checked my 809 split pack. Is this the same line you are referring to? It is on all three tubes the same way. I did not do a setup on the 809 but the raster seems very large on a 4/3 pattern or so.

It seems your G2 is too high ?

Maybe it's the shot.

No brightness was set to max to make the line visible. This projector seems allright but it seems the ABL line is very close to the raster too. I will compare with my cine 9 later.

@km98... what I did is this. Checked my Front 909 it has no ABL line at the top. Took all (I mean all, all the boards quad, controller mainframe tubes etc.) out of it and placed in the 919 split pack. Then line is visible Shocked
Placed everything back line is still visible. So it's a behavior of the frame I guess. Must be something due to the little connection plates or the extension of cables. It must be definitely a ABL line because at startup you'll see a little glow in top of the tubes, this will disappear when this line comes up. brightness of this line seams to stay the same when you rise or fall brightness and contrast.

@redfox No not the same line, yours is the first line of building up the raster, mine is separate from raster and stays the same brightness and is also clearly seen with low contrast and brightness.

I take it you want the split pack over the normal 909 setup. Can the frame or more to the point the main board be transferred to the split pack?

Think Francisco also did that because the only difference seems to be that the connectors between convergence tray and mainboard are folded 90 degrees so the board is under it I guess.

On the Cine Max there where no lines visible either.

Do I understand correct that the ABL is used to adjust the G2 automatically in the 9 series?

GUYS GUYS!!! MYSTERY OF ABL LINES is SOLVED!!!!

When I put all back together again the picture was upside down reversed on the screen. I didn't see it earlier because I looked trough the lenses most of the time. But I was sure that I connected the scan reversal connectors the right way Confused double checked and yes the were connected the right way for front ceiling...still shown upside down. Now there is a little pcb to plug-in all the connectors for cable extension. this pcb is connected to the mainframe, now it appeared that the previous simulator technician reversed the connectors there which have these little jumpers. Guess what reversed the connectors, pictures displayed the right way on screen and ABL line is GONE Cool
I want to thank you guys for helping and all suggestions, sometimes it's hard to find a simple solution.

The FUN can begin Wink

Wow congrats! Sharp and good found. Are there some caps on the little pcb that are now different? Anyway we want to know what these tubes do!

If the ABL line is out of the image it should not be a problem at all ?!

BTW, Kurt- that's the best 1:1 shot (of all 3 colors) I have seen from any CRT. I assume with Mike's boards?

Is this with Mike's G90 mods or stock?

Unless it's the camera, it would appear there is a significant difference in the H resolving between 1080p/60 and 800p/72. Looks like a stock Marquee.
