Someone has made the conversion DTV1100 ---> Graphics 1209s?

I tried today but not works

I swapped firmware + RWI + vertical board + horizontal board + deflection coils board.
All boards from BG1208s/E (like BG1209s)
Firmware + RWI from BG1209s

The projector don't power on Confused

If I put chip RWI original Runco the projector power on but no light from tubes (red led in the vertical board).

To the best of my recollection, I didn't change anything in the set. It's rare that system boards fail, and keep in mind that until the convergence board failure, the set worked fine for years. I do know that system boards and chassis are VERY specific, and yes, if the system board is wrong, you'll get I2R errors that the system boards senses, and it won't turn on, or will turn on, and then shut off.

I tried changing Data 1209s sets to Graphics 1209s, and wasn't able to.

I'd go back to the original system board, since it worked.

What is the problem with the 69kHz scanrate, it is enough for 1080p, if you want more and you have either a htpc or VP you should try 1080i@120Hz instead.

I purchased the unit from Goodwin's high end through ebay who I believe sold the unit new to one of thier customers and took the unit back from the same customer on a trade. If you contact them they may recall the history of the unit.

Oooh, OK, and all this time I thought the set came from me! Never mind, I know nothing about it save for what I already emailed...

I've notice these differences between DTV1100 / BG1209s

Defl. coil+switch
R7621385 / R762457

Focus board
R7625035* / R762271

Horiz. defl.
R76226715* / R7621085

Vert. defl.
R762637** / R7621127 (sub board R7621127s is the same)

G2 board
R763014** / R762120

Motherboard
R762941** / R7627591 or R7627581

Splitter + EHT are newer version and are the same as BG1209s
Quad is older version but works.
All boards into convergence tray and SMPS board*** are the same as BG1209s
The controller board is the same but, obviously, different firmware and RWI.

*: same as BG808s
**: unknown
***: in my Runco the SMPS board was replaced. So I don't know if his serial number is the same of genuine Runco.

The original quad, splitter, eht, smts (with unit Serial Number) where all swapped out over the last 3 years.

All parts were sent to Curt and replacement parts provided.

Are you sure?
Splitter and EHT (newer version) are matching with the serial of projector.

The parts swapped are: quad (older version), SMPS, convergence output (I swapped this board), convergence driver.

However, the projector works.
I wrote about the parts because I had planned the conversion ---> BG1209s

I think give up at the conversion.

Now I'm worried about retrace lines and pulsating brightness Confused

I stand corrected. If the serial numbers match they were sent to Curt along with other parts and used for Curts troubleshooting and repaired if necessary.

I believe only the quad was replaced, and yes, most likely with an older version, as they tend to be more reliable.

""Now I'm worried about retrace lines and pulsating brightness"

Retrace lines are usually G2, but if you are having some pulsation - I had some on my runco 1101,
and chased it all over - only to discover that it went away when I set the drive mode to "Normal"
instead of "economy" in the service menu.

I have been pleased with the 1101 overall - mostly use it at 1080P for the driving simulator.

Thank you zGman
Today I'll swap tubes with a set of Lug's (I swapped c-elements from Lpb's some days ago) and check G2 and drive mode.

In convergence menu, apart from the optional "green only" (COG board present) and usual "coarse"; "red on green" and "blue on green" adjustments ...

... there are ...

"blue on red"
"red on white"
"blue on white"

Shocked Shocked Shocked

(never seen before)

Now, that could be an attempt to convert a barco to a normal projector Laughing Those are basic features on a NEC from the begining (~1992).

Well, you know, someone at Runco was color blind. They also told everyone that they painted their cases gray. Laughing

Well I've notice that only the blue tube is affect to the issue.

I tried to ...

Check that Drive Mode was set to normal (was already set to normal)
Swap blue tube
Swap G2 boards
Swap leads into splitter (red to blue and vice versa)
Swap neckboards (red to blue and vice versa)
Swap RGB input and driver boards

No fix Crying or Very sad

Any suggestions?
