Hello all. After a year or more of non use of my home theater with a G90, I want to crank it up again and watch some movies. I quit using it because a could not calibrate because the remote would not show expert screen by pushing required code. It worked in the past and I have followed the manual carefully before. In my online research, I read that if the remote is " connected with an S cable " it will communicate better and this may be a solution. Is this possible? Any other ideas about how to get menu to allow me to correct convergence is appreciated. Thanks. Very Happy

Yes, a stereo 3.5mm cord will work.

Not sure thats much of an advantage. Had the same batteries in my remote for the past 7 years and they're still going strong.

Another way to get into service mode would be to use the control panel/remote mounted on the projector. Ensure that STATUS in turned on or the messages for service mode won't show.

If your remote works for user functions then using the cable probably isn't going to make much difference. Be sure to use the following sequence to enter service mode: ENTER, ENTER, UP, DOWN, ENTER. Then press ENTER again with the prompt pointing at YES when asking if you want to enter Service Mode.

I've also run into this kind of trouble if there was some other remote or IR device (like some 3D shutter glasses emitters) interfering with the remote IR.

Make sure that "status" is "on" because you won't get service mode without it on.

Thanks to all for the info. I now have several options to tune up the picture. I always thought I would get a new projector, but after looking at the G90 again after an absence of two years of viewing, I'm excited to tune it up and watch some movies again. Still a great image! Glad Curt and this forum exists to help us in the CRT world. Thanks again. Very Happy

And if you don't have a HDMI card you really are missing out on the G90's true potential. Makes me cringe when I put on a DVD now.

I have a Moome card from Curt....CRT people would have a problem without that fix. Works perfect. Thanks.
