Hi everyone,
Just found this forum and I am suprised about all the info.
Man ! Would take me years to read it all. What great home cinema's are presented here. Incredible !
Just got my first used Sony beamer. A VPH-1031QM
One I always wanted wen I was a kid. Damn it was heavy. But seen the first pictures, it was worth to carry 
Got it setup with al the perfect help from here.
Even focus the beamer was as easy as riding a bike. Took me 2 hours but I rushed to the end with a few cups of coffee, chocolat cookies and some nice background music.
Only figured out one problem than I could not find on this forum.
I try to explain:
When I look in the lens with (recommended) sunglasses I found out that with the test patterns, the lines from the red tube are bigger (more fat) that the blue and green tube. These appear to be thinner. So when I look at an image the red color is creating a red ghosting effect because I can't put the 3 colored lines exxactly on top of each other. Red always comes out on the left and the right of blue and green line.
Is there a way to adjust the format of the red tube lines??
Hope anyone can help me out.

Yes, on the side of teh set there is a focus block that has 6 controls on it. 3 for screen, 3 for focus. Adjust the focus ones only. Chances are the red has drifted a bit over the 25 years since the set was made.

Thanks, for your response !
Your truly the CRT expert alright
I will have a look at these controls on the side of the VPH.
The guy I got this projector from wasn't able to focus this projector right.
He told me he was working on it for weeks to figure it out but he just couldn't get the right results.
In the early days I did some small repairs on crt tv sets so I knew some of the focus symbols on the top a bit and what potentiometers to turn and also what not to turn. So I figured out there must be something inside this amazing piece of machinery that would be the answer, but just couldn't find it in the 137 pages service manual.
And is better to ask that to be sorry.
