It's really annoying Thumbs Down that they pollute another threat with this. It would be better if they stayed in the other threat with this.
I suggest since mr. Stridsvognen and Diddern live in the same country and really start to like each other, they redo BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN together somewhere on a hill in Denmark.

What I'm also thinking is that European people are maybe sometimes a little bit to serious on claims from Americans, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Like Greg is claiming that his modifications will make such an improvement that it will blow a sony 4k away etc. And 50% sharper image etc. etc. In my eyes it's just a way of selling, make things very BIG. Bigger better BEST!

I have sold Volvocars in Holland and was amazed when I spoke to American colleague sellers. They told me they had all cars lined up in rows all FULL options and MOST LUXURIOUS only different colors and engines. Now when you entered the show terrain a clown (person in clown costume) approached to you and made a little yoke and asked you if you wanted to buy a car today! If not you supposed to leave, if you did you could leave your credit card and would leaved with a new car same day license plate registrated etc.
In Holland my customers would visit us sometimes more then 10 times they learned the brochure by head and configured the car exactly how they would like it to have. Waited 2 or 3 months to receive it. Very very different. What I want to point out is that Greg uses his selling technique and just says: Hey you don't have to look any further, you don't have to figure it out I have the best of the best for your Barco projector.

Now what's interesting to know for me, is what improvements all the modifications will make. And until now no one really could tell me. Where are the Barco users that have a Cine9 or 909 with those modifications???

Hello MR
I live in Norway not Denmark, but not as far as USA hehe.
I also think that if mr gstridsvognen wants to be this way and annoy spessialy me and also Andreas as I remember and talk to people that he is the guru when the fact is something else proven. But he have read much about CRT but it stops there. But we can take this in PM or make a forum called diddern vs gstridsvognen hehe.
You are correct about Greg he wants to sell. And for me to sell by false statements is for me unacceptable.
And to be honest his mods do make a CRT much better but not in the league as a vw1000 and newer will be.
Mr gstridsvognen also think that i haven't seen a god 909 or other CRT.
I have seen and had different CRT and allot of friends with 909 cine 9. And also the top marquees.
Even Norway's top guys in the old days. And now all of them quit CRT but I meet 2 guys that live for CRT.
So they made life in the old technology and I like that.
A very god friend of mine have done allot of mods now and new simulator tubes that makes sharper and brighter images on a CRT. And that it was a fiasco when I was there more than once yes.
But my 2 CRT fan boy friends say that now it's better than they're 909 reality.
Do I believe it no. But it means that it's fantastic now compared from before.
And to take a digital and compare I know it's no use.
I am also interested to see what the mods do, this because one of my friends that have a 909 reality.
And this 808 is a test Projekt for the 909 that they gonna mod.
I will see this finished and adjusted in 2 weeks and hope that it is as god as they say.
If it can't compare with a 909, marquee or a sheep digital what does that matter? He loves it.
And payed a whole lot for it.

I do not want to waste time on adjusting I let the professional people to that. But I remembered that when I was In to CRT I loved it. And now my calibrator is the most reliable person in this business and calibrating 300-500 different PJ a year.
Also for movie studios. So all my PJ are calibrated by him. And I am extremely satisfied.
And from what you showed you have a super-sharp CRT and I bet you love it.

I'm sorry Norway it is, even more mountains 😉 nice country tough, I really liked it on Holiday.
I think Stridsvognen really knows a lot about CRT technology even as he only has one for 2 years. I think we have to give him some credits for this. Also I think he's the person to give some critic questions to mr G Eisemann.
I don't know for sure but I think he's young and diggs himself totally in the tech of crt. And for the price, performance, and lasting hours CRT is still very good. And I totally agree no use to compare with digital. I mean I could have bought a VW1000 but the 919's (had 4 of them) came by and I stept into the adventure and I'm really happy with it and like to tweak it a bit. But I know for sure I also would be really happy with the VW1000. Friend of us have a sim 3 chip also very nice, but that's out of my league.

Don't be anoyed by false statements of Greg, it's just his way of saying I have got the best. Sometimes we have to relativate in life. But do yours friends have a 909 which they will modificate with greg's mods whitin 2 weeks? Or is that just the 808?
Because the 808 and 909 are really different trust me, even a modded 808 compared to a not modded 909
Happy watching by the way.... Christmass is comming

This is a 808 and you are 100% right big differences from a 909.
And abort gstridsvognen he knows much and can explain stuff he fiend interesting. But try to be a teacher for kindergarden.
And that I do not like. But enough of that. That is PM material.

This 808 is a test project of cards and mods before they start on the 909 reality.
But trust me on this ,even I know that a 9" is much better, but when two 909 reality owners say that this is now better I start to wonder? A play for the gallery maybe, but I will see that. But just like many others CRT users what you own is much better than
Everything. And I do this for fun crushing peoples dreams hehe, no just kidding.
I let you know my appinion on the 808 when I see it. And trust me I will be honest. And I take some pictures of the wispiness improvements.

Quick statement before Christmas after having a New look.

I liked the Picture, was much sharper than last time. The good CRT feeling.
And to this topic, much better than a org. 808 correct. But only to a 808 or maybe a 9" but to a normal god digital not yet.
But again a very very good 808 CRT.

This CRT is a fantastic 808, and can compare in many ways to a 9" if its original. After what I've seen.
Positive sides, long long lifetime, very good for gaming the best.
Motion resolution fantastic.
Total shutdown.
no sound form the projector

The improvements in my eyes.

Better sharpness.
Contrast lever about the same.
Good dynamic and debt
Nice punch in picture (enough)
Still poor Ansi contrast
Super shutdown and manages to show just a bit of information in image and keep the rest compliantly black.
color nice
greyscale not perfect but will be done later.

I got great news.

Hog Pilot will explain all the facts here, and tell why we all need to love squares. Specialy why 4K/ UHD will be great on CRT, and do better than on Digital displays.

Im in general against pushing 4K on CRT projectors, and can only see the format do well with a 4K source on a native 4K digital display.
