But to understand CRT and be able to get it as close to perfect, you need to calibrate yourself.
Its all conected, the gamma response with the foucus and so on.
And a very good way to display that all 3 tubes perform identical is to post a native grayscale with no digital correction.
But im sure you know and did that lots of times.
You had so much in the replay hehe
I mean that specially me or you will not get the picture 100% on a or your CRT. A pro calibrator and have to know crt will do it better than you I think. But I think part of the fun with CRT like I remembered it was to get information by friends and others.
And that was part of the CLUB. Now for me, that time is over and want to get a perfect picture after a calibration on a digital.
And then finished. I cant get it any better. Some fun lost YES. |
So what are you douing on a CRT forum ?
And trying to teach everyone whats up and down.? |
What???
Do I need to teach someone, you do that perfectly. I have learned and refreshed much just form you about CRT.
What are you doing on CRT still king or Crt better than Sony 4k? Do you like to be on bull**** treads?
Why not start a forum that do not involve Digital.?

From CRT projectors.?

Hahaha I Always like your comments. I have used a Oehlbach 8m RGBHV 5bnc cable, I think with 5 quad shielded RG6 cables I will get better results. But I don't want to go back again, I will stick to a HDMI solution.
For fun off course I can try some things if I like to.

Try play with different peaking settings on your 909, and see what happens, you might be able to find one that will make it look like Cases 909 when you run RGBHV from Crystalio.
If you dont have one, you should try the 25$ HDCP stripper, and you see the Crystalio RGBHV out for blu ray |
I will try if don't watch a movie and have some spare time. I think you ment peaking settings within the barco?

Mine isnt a 909 though, its a CineMAX. For movies, its even better than the 909, unless he put coloured C-elements in his 909.
As for the "punch", its very obvious you took the brightest part of your pic, which was clearly taken at a different angle, and is notably less sharp and more "AC like" than his. Anyone here that has seen both AC and LC on the same screen will know straight away how big the difference is. |
Yes my Seos Prodas 919 has colored C-elements and new LUGS, and latest software, also most boards are NEW all around 2004 - 2006

Yeah i understand from Case that it can be set in different step, a bit of peaking can be better than nothing, and to much can be worse than nothing.. Maybe there is a nice setting in there.
I have the Crystalio 3800 Here, and a nice RGBHV cable, so if you need any 2nd opinion on anything that way ill be happy to do some tests here.
What i dont have is the EXT Moome. I do have Hd Fury 2 and 3, and hope to get a hold on the 4S
Im impressed that you have so clear scanline gaps on yours. That gives a nice headroom on the vertical resolution.
Would be nice if you were able to bump up the horisontal resolution.

To be honest, I don't mind scanlines, I'm sitting 3,2m away from my 280cm wide screen, and can't see it from there. What I do see is some picture noise on white sky's etc. That's something I want to improve. Also a little bit of ghosting which you can see in my 1:1 picture. I'm curious about the bandwidth and how to improve it

From what I have seen hdmi on CRT is better. Some like Pepsi some like cola
Better images. But I have only seen Greg's hdmi card. And that is very good on barco.

I think that higher bandwidth combined with your very good focus will be a killer combi.
Thats why i ask about the peaking.. Its a fake bandwidth, but might be a improvement overall. And you need a DA converter who are not limiting the signal, looks like the Crystalio do better, but also makes a color shift.
Some of my experiments shows that a perfect high bandwidth input on standard boards actualy can stress the CRT to perform worse than a input where there is some roleoff. Normaly gets more fussy, and shifting colors.

I never comented on the SONY 4K overall performance.. Cant, have not seen it.. As well as you cant coment on different performance on forum members 9" CRT machines without seeing it.
What we do know that if we dont like scaling, and scaling artifacts, we are better off with a good CRT or a native 1080P digital projector.

So you mean that all the 909 and cine 9 I have seen are crap compared to the ones on this forum? bull**** x10
And I understand that you know a lot about banding, but not much about 4k and what is today. That's why you always end on bandwidth. And is it so hard for you to understand that you can't see scaling when you watch movies hehe.
Did you ignore the 5 questions? I just wonder. The same like every time. Or talk some more about bandwidth.
Please do not answer then you make my day. Hehe
Sorry the picture. That was rude.

I only check projectors when a calibrator has done the job perfect with all. I start,, Or if someone clams that they have a better projector than something.
That's also what I said to mr Stridsvognen, make your projector 110% Then I take the trip and compare Side by side. If someone messed up the picture on projector A I do not care. Then its a loss. I also thought that the Sony HW50 was goanna win over the New JVC x500 But the JVC was better. If not much, but better.
So I hope this is perfectly clear for everyone...... |
So you not having the skill and experience to adjust and calibrate CRT, projectors in general, how is it you insist evaluating stuff you dont know about.?
Why don't you leave that to the calibrator commenting on performance parameters, and linking it to different adjustments.?
Why don't you just watch movies on your favorite projector when you don't even care to understand how its all working.? |
So you not having the skill and experience to adjust and calibrate CRT, projectors in general, how is it you insist evaluating stuff you don't know about.?
Lets put it the other way why do people claim that something is better when its far from that.
Just so some CRT guys think that CRT is still KING, or to sell more, try to keep CRT for some years more.

He get played to say what I like to hear, and what you get on screen is more important than test patterns and measurements. Its not difficult to se what is best. And I am never alone so I get more information than I see, also maybe with a calibrator present.
Since I have to answer many questions to you can you answer mine.

Where and who claimed CRT are better, or KING.. ? where did that come from all of a sudden.. Thought we were having a CRT tech discusion here.? What did i miss.?

What i read and understand is that you think you can evaluate resolution and colors without the help of test pattern and measurements, but you can define whats going on in a picture by watching movie material.. That a very nice skill.. That i still dont have.

So lets start where we left in the other thread where you put your tail betwen your legs and had to call others idiots, and dident want to explain your understanding of bandwidth..
Has bandwidth any relevance on a digital.?

Im quite sure ill still prefer the CRT performance over the SONY 4K. but not from a moddet 8" CRT with HD 144 lenses.
