Mainly a confirmation.
I can get 3 new Marquee 8500 180DMB43 tubes, all the information i can find indicates that it's a straight swap with a 180DMB22.
These should fit right in to my BG808s should i use my BD808S bracket + neckboards (after pinmod) without any issues?
Using Color filtered lenses so the slight color difference between P43 and P22 phosphor shouldn't be an issue.

If 180dmb43 is really straight swap of 180dmb22 you can use tube's supports of BD808s but you'll lose scheimpflug feature I think.
If I no mistake, the metal parts of the brackets are the same for sony or mec.
The lenses are the same .. so you could try to swap internal tube's support that are screwed to the brackets.
Check before try.

If you are sensitive to flickering, with faster phosphorus you need to use higher refreshrate.

Running my 808 with a VP50 at 1080i72, if needed i could go for 1080i96 so flickering won't be an issue.
Yesterday i compared the housings and they look identical to my P16 mec housings, tubes have been payed for!
No way back

Here's tested 808 timings for 1080i96 (95.904 Hz)

Thanks for the timings! I do use my VP50 pro + HDFury III so i can connect all my sources without readjustments.
Currently using it at 1440p60 or 1080i72. My vp50 is limited in bandwith so it will be some experimenting once i have everything installed. I might not even notice the possible flicker.

I'm quite sure the VP50Pro can do 1440p72, or 1080i96, but i don't think your 808 will handel it.

1440x960p right.? well at least that was what my head was thinking... sorry.
I Don't have a 808, but what i have seen they run nice with 960P60hz. Sure there are someone here that knows if its possible to push it more.. try out the 720P96, but i never liked 720P resolution with DVDO.. Don't think the motion look very smooth.. but never tested it in 96hz.. so actually no idea how that look like...

Currently using
1440x960p60 for my xbox, seems more fluent
1080i72 for my bluray and HTPC
And maybe i won't even notice any flicker

back to square one, the tubes i had payed for were promised to be new (ebay) but after verifying these are used (7/10), not paying 500 euro for 3 7/10 tubes.
One good thing, 1080i96 works flawless with my VP50 pro and 808s.
