ok...so i picked up a retrographics for cheap and just the fun of maybe bringing it back to life again - stupid me Mr. Green
somebody stupid (or a whole crew) had laid hands on this one:
software comes up as graphics 800, tubes had been sealed with shitloads of black silicone because they must have leaked into the entire casing, in the process they broke of several bolts holding the tubes, lost a couple more and made a f*cking mess...

anyway - trying my luck and maybe i can learn something from working on this one Wink

first startup brought up a horrible smell and some magic smoke from the red video amp...and a full on, bright as the sun red tube!
i quickly pulled the plug and dug through the stuff that came with the projector...one videoamp was included Smile
after changing the videoamp, i simply couldnt get a picture from the red tube.
i changed over neckboard and videoamps from the working tubes with no result and i got really confused because i simply couldnt get it to work....till i got the video signal across from the green tube Wink yeeeeey !

so now i need to find the cause of no video signal going to the red... and now it's up to you guys Wink
what would be the next thing to check ?

Yeah, I had two and gave up on them. Same thing, the glycol leaked all over the motherboard and nuked a bunch of stuff. You're sure having good luck finding CRTs in Germany! Smile

Check the quad decoder and RGB switcher card. Those fail regularly.

Strip it right down and start again. Parts are not expensive. If you don't you will be forever chasing problems.
