has been quiet for a while, been very busy working and writing job applications... need to get my life sorted Very Happy
projector ist stored away and last time i checked the red tube is perfectly fine, no leaks, just a tiny air bubble behind the c-element.
i think that should disappear once the projector is ceiling mounted !
can't wait to continue and finally figure out where and how to hang it Smile

Let's hope they are not victims of the heater voltage problem, however the chambers and the green C-element alone worth it Smile

Hi,

I do recommend taking a closer look at the bellows. It seems to me from the first picture, that the tube with the darker grey casing has some signs of corrosion. Its origin usually is leaking glycol corroding the bolts...

Regards,

any chance i can check if the filament is still good without putting them into my projector ?
i'll check the condition of the bellows and the pressure inside the chambers as soon as the arrive... don't want another pressed out tube and fountain Very Happy

got the tubes today Smile

they both have slight corrosion on and in the housing and flakes in the glycol.
everything else looks pretty good !
i think they got pulled because of leaking from where the bellows join the housing.
as soon it gets a bit warmer, i'll put them in the projector and check how the emission is.

if i decide to keep them, i'll drain the glycol and disassemble everything to clean and paint the housing.
bellows still look good to me, they were just sweating a tiny bit. they should be alright once reseated properly.

You wont be able to save the bellows, and since they are sweating they will continue to sweat.

The Housing will have to be painted with Epoxy paint. allow at least one week to dry.
