Hello Everyone.
I am very happy to have joined this forum and hope to be an asset to this community in the future.

I have a question, I have (more like had) a IScan VP20 video processor that I used for a little bit of time. I bought it used off of a Salvation army store for like a hundred bucks and it was working like a charm. Until Thursday.... I dont know what happened but I was using to passthrough for my Playstation 3 and then we had small brownout and then it would not work anymore. I boot it up and it says Serious Error 16, please contact dealer.
I called Anchor bay and the person who talked to me told me that it is a problem that the unit is having with HDMI and that they could probably repair for $400. SO i was pretty devastated so I went ahead and bought a DVDo Edge Green from Amazon which should be arriving next week.
I would like to know if there is any technician in this forum that has worked with this units and know how to service them. I would hate to have to toss it in the trash. It was practically new when I bought it. Or maybe perhaps there is something I can do to it. I know a littl bit of electronics and maybe if its something simple i could service it myself.
Thanks

TV/Projector: All of them!

UNless it's the power supply (doubtful in this case), it's most likely not worth repairing. Everything is proprietary in these units, and no schematics have been released. I believe that DVDO replaces the entire board, they don't actually service them. Typical of almost everything built these days, sorry!

Wonder if the power supply got zapped when the brown out hit? DVDO's had power supply issues to begin with, wonder if it's not getting proper power would cause the issue you are seeing?

Maybe you could check the power supply out before you decide to ebay it.

No problem. Have you tried another power supply?

No, not yet.
I saw a person selling one for about $45 shipping included. I will probably try testing a new power supply before discarding it but that will have to wait until after Christmas.
