I know you guys wouldn't believe me so here is the proof. Notice that the CRT hour counter doesn't even have a place for the 5th digit!
This client is the original owner of the projector, purchased back in 1999 or 2000. He and his wife use it every day for several hours. We installed a Lumagen XS+ on it about two years ago with 3D.
When I went there yesterday it was for a gratis visit to fix a small issue he has been having with his Radiance configuration. When I calibrated the projector about two years ago I had to turn his green gain all the way up to maximum 256 and run his contrast at 95/100 in order to get the correct 12 flt that I wanted on his screen (ST130 96x54). I assumed before I saw his projector again yesterday that it would be really dim and look awful by now. Much to my surprise the image was still looking stellar! Very bright with great true colors. What's more is that he told me he hasn't touched the convergence since I was there last and it was still perfect.

I should also point out that he has NEVER needed repair service for his projector... just like most of my other G90 clients.
We also installed my fan mods for cooler and quieter operation a couple years ago. He loves the fan mods after suffering years of noisy fans

YES!!!
The client simply did not seat the left side of his new board properly. I got there the next day, plugged it in, and was rolling. In fact, the only reason I had time to visit the 17k hour unit was because I was finished with the first G90 early enough

I will. I later recalled that I have another YA here where the only problem in the projector was that blue horizontal linearity was not working; that's all. Turned out to be the YA board with a suspect IC421. I think I traced the issue back to IC421 whenever this was a couple years ago, but I don't remember for sure. I will give both boards a go again because it would be nice to turn up two more YA boards.

Like many of my clients, this G90 has a drop down screen that goes in front of a regular TV. I don't like drop down screens, but some people do for aesthetic or convenience reasons. This screen is actually 4x3, but I think we only setup 16x9... I forget.
