So you don't think UHD really offers any true visible benefit.

You sound like Bill Gates in 1981. "Nobody needs more than 640K of RAM."

Let me state this in the simplest possible terms:

You're wrong.

I will continue to pursue a 4K goal and be happy if I end up settling for something above 2K.

The fun is in seeing how far you can push things. How fast does the car go, how hard can you throw it through corners without sliding into the woods.

You're the one who's come in here being critical of the work of others while showing none of your own achievements. Which gives me no reason to believe that you've made any.

So you don't like an oversharp picture, so what? Take your glasses off or if you don't wear any, get a set of prescription eyewear ground for somebody else's prescription. Or turn the focus control a little bit.

I'm also not after artificial sharpness, but I'm after as much detail and resolution as I'm able to get.

And, you may know this, but a lot of the fun is just to be on the quest. Going hands on with equipment and trying to make it do more and do it better than it used to is a uniquely satisfying hobby. Even if the results end up being unimpressive, the quest itself is still fun. So I'm going to go have fun and learn something along the way, and believe me, I don't need your approval to do that.

If I do want somebody's approval, it's the approval of people I respect. On this board that would include Joust, Nashou66, Mike Parker, Greg Eisenmann, Curt Palme, Tse, and a few others, and guess what...your name isn't on that list. You haven't earned it from me.

If that bothers you, you can try to change that by posting some relevant achievements and discoveries that will allow us to improve our picture qualities with projectors we already own.

Actually I've been running MP modded neck and VIM boards for several years. Plus I originated the idea of running Kanto-Denshi focus yokes in a Marquee to improve focus performance, AKA 'frankenyokes".

My PJ is due for a good scrubbing inside and out and this will be a fine time to do still more mods on it, but I do NOT run a stock machine, and in fact I've done some tweaks and mods to it that I've never detailed to anybody. Not going to do it now, either, because I don't think they're worth posting. They do work, though.

I've never had anything but good dealings with Mike, and my habit is only to speak from personal experience. No doubt Mike has a life over, above, and beyond modding neck cards and video input modules. How he manages those things is not my business but
my dealings with him have all been positive.

I can tell you from my own personal experience that having too many hobbies makes it difficult to manage ANY of them, particularly if it causes you enter into a client-vendor relationship with any of them. It's one reason why I am not actively trying to find someone interested in having me build a custom guitar for him. I can do a world class job, but I'm not inclined to at this time so I am not trying to drum up any business there.

These topics are supposed to be constructive and forward thinking about ways to actually make our projectors work better and deliver better imagery. Saying "I don't think you'll see the difference" is contrary to the very spirit of these topics.

The point is to TRY, and see if the difference is visible, or even measurable, after the mod in question has been performed.

Thanks CJ. I'm really tiring of this guy doing this and being able to continue to do it. And why he keeps saying my mods don't make a change. Not sure why he does that when I have and have posted a Praise report from him of the changes he has experienced. And that he has a VIM modified by me that he has no problem with saying it makes a difference. And with that everytime he post otherwise he is Slandering me...

Whatever the IC was just post it. I don't even remember what it was. We've since went with something different, and that explains what I've been saying for the longest.

I honestly forgot what it was and have no problem at all with you posting it.. Mr. Green

Red is just trying so hard to score a point against you, Mike.

Frankly I don't understand his motivation. Or the point he's trying to make.

I mean, really, what difference does it make? (Not trying to sound like Hillary.)
