This request is not for me but for others to know what it will take to ship a CRT projector. I only look for projectors mostly in my own area because I do not want to pay more for shipping than the cost of the actual unit. But for people here to get an idea of what it takes including pallet, wrapping, and all charges including taxes from East coast to West coast and Canada so people will have an idea. Because I receive offers for cheap units in other states and I sometimes offer a price and they then say ok cool "I will cover shipping" then they call me and say deal is off because they get sticker shock on shipping charges. I have come to expect that now. Perhaps someone later on will not care but it would be nice to have a sticky on steps a person should take or prepare to take as they get ready to ship a CRT and who to ship with. I have no clue on how Curt does it with shipping because I have seen him make great offers to people with shipping included. There is a guy back east with a nice XG unit for a great price but everyone has backed away from it because of the shipping and now he's willing to part it out. Which is also cool. But it would be nice if someone could use that unit. I ran into this last year when I WON a G70 on ebay and the seller in the ad said 50 dollars flat fee for shipping. I figured he had a good deal for shipping. Turns out it was a listing service biz this guy was running for clients to sell their stuff on ebay through. He would handle the listing, auction, money, and shipping. He said he had never seen one before and was shocked on shipping price and therefore felt he should not be held to the original shipping costs listed in the auction. He admitted to having the weight and dimensions but went off of pictures thinking it was the same size as a LCD or DLP in which he was looking to POCKET some dough on. So yes I did not get the G70 for $845.00 plus 50 for shipping

the freight alone dock to dock is about $200. to $250. a lift gate delivery or pick-up adds $40. to each end. To have someone put it in a very large box and foam it in place, then palletize it, $250. Wooden shipping crate, maybe twice that much?

then the seller was foolish because even if he had to eat the extra shipping the selling price was still very good

It was a NIB unit. NEVER USED!! I would think I had the better end of the deal....perhaps even out....who knows.

Commercial shipping accounts get a nice discount shipping stuff...specially if it an exclusive agreement.

You could also try uship.com if you don't mind waiting a little bit for the shipment.
