Most likely a bad system board. I've seen that before. try a very low resoilution, like 640 X 480 and see if the problem still happens. If not, and if it only does it at about 1080i and above resolution, or if it does it at all resolutions, the system board is bad. Impossible to find, and $3500 from barco.
I did just buy 3 909s here, and I may be parting one of them out when I get home in a week. Not sure yet though.

$3500 from barco?!?!?
I thought a YA board was expensive.

Well at least that's for a whole board with all new chips. Sony were charging $1500+ for a single chip replacement back when they had stock, that was probably worth <$30. $1K for a working YA seems like a bargain in the context of a 909/Cine9 repair.

For a replacement systems board from Barco, if this turns out to be the source of your problems. Seems this cannot be repaired at the component level if I'm reading Curt's response right.

Wow...I was gonna look at buying a 909 for a new house...cheaper to do a stack or blend.

Before choosing the G90 I had seriously contemplated the 909 which was considered a slight step up in performance (in large part due to the digital convergence and HFQ900 lenses) but the parts availability was so bad back then if anything went wrong you'd be contacting the new parts dept @ Barco = $$$. Couldn't justify the risk back then, although things have gotten 'slightly' better as used pj's are being decommissioned.

I just got a 909 chassis here from Curt. The plan is for me to start doing system board repairs on these for Curt and whomever else. When Curt gets home from Chicago he is going to ship me like "15" bad control boards. I've looked at this board in the past and don't think it will be too hard to star repairing these... famous last words, but hopefully I will get these figured out.

If you can get the chips and they're not proprietary I think you'll have a good shot at succeeding with board level repairs.

Craig that is good news for the Barco boys- good luck! - I hope it is even easier than you think. Do you have a good board/PJ to reference from?

Hello, this is indeed a very good news for us and our barco.
What is important is to know the price to repair the controller
How to be sure that it is the controller that is down?

If the controller would be dead you would not have a chance to start the Barco.
Do you have access to all the menues? Please post a shot of the voltage section.

have you tried reseating all the boards especially the front tray which houses the controller board. Sometimes reseating of switching off and on the projector works.

I never did it but it should be straight forward.
Setup a connection to the com port and check if you have an established connection between your pc/laptop and the projector.
If so search for the *.bin firmware file and start the upload.
Please post your connection setup.
