HD-145s may be great, but unless Gjaky has changed his lenses, he doesnt have them anyway.
They are not that much of a step up from HD-6s in terms of center focus, and nowhere near the upgrade that LC is over AC.

I have my own HD-145, tried it, but the HD-6 is on board again
I thought there will be more difference between the two lenses, no doubt that HD-145 have better focus focus, but only just a touch better, same with the haloing, and I had a strange light scattering far from the screen with the HD-145 that wasn't present with the HD-6.
So I offered my new HD-145s to the guy who bought my marquee 7500 and he was happy to accept, probably he will be more impressed after his clear HD-8s. Again HD-145s are better in every aspect than HD-6s, but not as much as it is more expensive. I can see the scanlines are distinct in 720P even with the HD-6...

And the Barco tanks probably came from a Cine8 or Onyx model since they do fit the 1208. Good call on the contrast ratio over the resolution though. But perhaps you will find a way to have your cake and eat it too. |
or from an 808LC.. if I was going to go to all the trouble of chasis mods and LC swaps I would stretch the XG chasis so you could use other green tubes in the XG lC housings.
