I have been working on my mancave the past few weeks. In doing this I am finding the "KEYS" to my success. First...remember this is for me and my buds to enjoy a place to watch sports and simply veg. So when my wife mentions anything that would take away anything I even remotly might not enjoy having, it's a big fat hell no ....MANCAVE MEANS MANCAVE. For example my friends wife suggested the other day that I should get rid of the "huge" Runco 933 and opt for a 1,000 POS LCD projector. My cousins wife suggested I finish the ceiling so my floor joists are not exposed. And 2 of my wifes friends suggested that I get a lighter color on the walls and put a thick carpet down on the floor and instead of a sectional couch with recliners and opt for some theater chairs to go with the decor of a modern theater.

So..... Twisted Evil ....I am going from a 7 inch CRT to a 9 inch CRT and increasing the size of the unit...Then I will take the ceiling suggestion and finish it off with sports flags of my teams. So yes I will cover the ceiling joists. I will now also paint the room as suggested but with a dark charcoal grey on the walls. Then I will probably stain the concrete floor a dark shade and throw a Oakland Raiders rug in the center. And I am staying with the sectional because I sometimes like to break it up and make one huge 6 person couch. This is more than just a theater, it's my place to veg whether I am reading or watching sports. So what I have learned is listen to the opposite sex and go with their suggestion.....then do the complete opposite and I enjoy. Hey....I do not tell them what to do in the kitchen or sewing room. However in the bedroom, they can tell me all they want and if it is wrong, I can do it all over again. Mr. Green And in case anyone was wondering.....the men and spouses of the women above all agree with me and claim I am a genious!!!!!

Ive had a few people sugest things here too, like put in a window where my screen is so i can look out at the bush... I can go outside if i want to look at the bush... Why would i want to sit inside and do that?

If your mrs wants to take away sh*t that makes you happy when it has no effect on her, you need to do what i did Wink

Actually, finishing the ceiling and laying down a carpet would help with the audio.

What you should have replied to all of the wives was "I will use all your suggestions, if we can make this a dual purpose room - orgy/home theater." Mr. Green

Ha, you have to be careful with these types of responses. Sometimes the answer is not what you expected...... Laughing

Sound is great already. But carpet is not what I want. If it chases annoyances....that is my goal.
