Hi folks,

i have a barco 1101 that i bought almost new in 2007. it's been working great but lately the screen will go black after a few minutes of powering on. i have to shut it off and on to get the picture back. it seems to be doing it more often now also. what could be the cause of that? any input would be greatly appreciated. i have knowledge of electronics, but i'm not very well versed with analog displays.

thanks

Check the red lights on the EHT board. I'll bet they come on when the pix goes out. Most likely your HV quad is bad. I have stock if you need one.

Cheers!

Unfortunately Curt is most likely correct. It could also be the EHT board or splitter. The quad being the most expensive fix... Shocked

Hey guys, I know it's been a while since i last posted. My pj seemed to get better, but now is back to shutting the picture off without warning. By the way, I listed it as a barco 1101, I meant Runco 1101 (Barco 1209s). I opened up the chassis, but did not see any change in the leds when it shut the picture off. Am I not looking in the right spot? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Look through the back grille at the EHT board. There are two LEDs on it, one at the top, one at the bottom. One of the two will most likely come on when the pix goes out:

Yours most likely has the new style EHT board.

I installed my projector on the celing, and it's pretty close to the rear wall, but i was able to see a red light come on towards the rear of the pj when the pix went out. Also, I can see a red led come on behind the cover in the attatched pic. Both leds extinguish once I cycle the pj off then on. If it is the board you mentioned earlier, how much will it cost to replace? Thanks.

It's a flat rate of $275 incl return shipping to test the quad and EHT board and/or to replace/repair whatever part is defective.

Hello Curt, miraculously my projector stopped shutting down up until now since this last reply. Now it shuts down within a minute of powering on and then every thirty seconds or so after cycling the unit on. Would you still be able to fix the EHT board or send me a replacement? If so what is the fee for either? Thanks in advance.
