I've been abandoned at my post!? - I was advised by Curt to press Standby on the flipout keyboard - on the Barco 1208s -:
Flip out keypad? - I've not found it - Also I have no remote - when I got the Barco I was told they did not have the remote. (lost or sold?)

The keypad is on the back of the machine. The door that hides the keypad is about 1" tall and about 8" long press it in and it will spring out.

Thanks - I thought there was something there! - I pressed Stby on the flip-out - it took a few seconds with lights flashing - to settle with the:
Stby Power - steady red
Main Power - steady red
Processor Cycles - flashing red
Operation (on the back panel) - Green

The Barco is humming - warming up?
- can it be operational? (with Processor Cycles flashing?)
No smells (no burning).

But no light from lenses?!
Is there procedure I'm missing?

Where to from here? - I'll check the manual.

Have you tried hooking a video source to it? I'm running a 1208 also and love it.

I have pressed the STDBY key - the results were as above - and below:

Operation shows - green (back panel)

on the control panel under folding cover:
Main Power - steady red
Stdby -steady red
Processor Cycles - flashing red

Barco humming(warming up) - though no light from projector at all.

Is there something must be done - to set up for projection-light?

What happens when you press the TEXT button or ADJ button ? You use the ADJ button to get into the internal setup menu.

If you don't see a grid pattern after hitting the ADJ button try turning up the brightness control.

Thanks for responses - I've not got any projection light - I've switched on again and in addition to the previous lights showing:

Main Power - steady red
Stdby -steady red
Processor Cycles - flashing red (flickering)
and Back panel - steady green

there is now another light on (under folding cover):

Block Match - steadily(red)

I pressed the ADJ and Text - no detectable reaction?

One of the lights on a circuit card which was red is now green - and another that was red is now not lit.

After 10 minutes - no change - and I switched off.

OK, so far so good. You may be missing the HV, which is indicated by a shutdown of the EHT board. There's a red LED on the top of the EHT board, which you can see by looking through the back of the set at the EHT board:

http://curtpalme.com/Barco1208_Layout2.shtm

http://curtpalme.com/Barco808_Layout8.shtm

If the red EHT light is on, that means the set is in HV shutdown mode to protect the set. THe HV quadrupler, EHT board itself or HV splitter will be causing that.

Also, on the row of green LEDs on the one board to the side of the set, there's a red light on it. Is that red light on?

There was a red light the second last time I switched on - next to a row of green - The last switch-on - only green. Also another red on a more central board was on - and the last time not.

EHT - I still have to find where that is.

Thanks - I'll check it soon.
