Didn't want this in the OT section and we don't have a MISC section so I'm putting it here.

I want it to be an easy search.

Anyways this appears to be very common and a vehicle that doesn't light the odometer won't pass state inspection. So, if you have this problem and can remove your instrument panel (very easy to remove) and send it to me I can repair it for much, much less then dealers are charging.

Contact via email.... Very Happy

Hey Mac....How about vintage car radios? I've got one for my '65 Corvette that hasn't had power connected for about 25 years.

Should I just apply 12 volts and watch for smoke?

Mike

Unless I found it with a mouse nest around it where pee would have gone in I would just power it up. I just did some early 80's factory Ford radios a few months ago and other then some new belts and cleaning and spraying the controls all was fine.

Thanks Mac!

I'll connect it to a fused battery and try it out...I'm a long way from needing it...But these kind of things I'll work on during the winter.

You got a 65 hiding somewhere Twisted Evil

I drove a 65 Coupe up to Mass from Fla. Completely restored frame off. Was better then new Yes I said WAS...
A couple of months later it was stolen Crying or Very sad

I briefly had a 67 427 roadster with factory side pipes rag top and hard top. I got it shortly after high school. My parents made me sell it insisting I would kill my self with it. I think they were right. Thumbs Up

That was many years ago in the early 70's. I'm looking for another one now. I found a 67 basket case right here in my own town. It's been apart in a garage since the early 80's and he still can't make up his mind what to do with it. The biggest downside is no original motor. That's OK though because I'm not looking for a investment quality car. I want to build a quality driver. You know, something with a 800 HP crate motor Very Happy
