Been running trouble-free for the last 3 years, and early Sunday morning it loses the red output. No 'pop', no flicker, just gone. I'm not savvy with the CRT's beyond convergence, so I'll need some gentle guidance to get this troubleshooted and back up. I do have a spare machine for parts, and thankfully, Curt is just a few miles up the road from me (OK, about 175 miles) if it's beyond my abilities.
Where do I start? I've opened it up, and there's still green lights on all the outputs, and the base of the red tube still has a glow like the others. It's almost as if it's muted.
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

On the end of the tubes is the CRT socket/video amp. All three are identical. Swap the red to the green and vice versa. Oh, also check to see if in the test pattern you get the red tube to work.
THe last email I got turned out to be a bad red input cable, and it had nothing to do with the projector. If the red test pattern works, then swap the R and G input cables. If the red test pattern is missing, then swap the CRT sockets.

Already tried bringing up a red-only grid in convergence, no joy.
Just came up from swapping red-green BNC's... again, no change (I always suspect and troubleshoot possible cabling issues before assuming the worst).
I'll try swapping the CRT sockets, next.

That was it. Swapped the video amps, now red is on and green is off. Easy fix to get back up and running quickly, I'll rob one off the other pj. Now, can the amps be repaired, or are they a 'disposable' part? I don't really want to cannibalize the other pj, as it is a complete and functional unit...

Pretty much disposable, but I've got a ton of spares here. $30 plus about $5 shipping. Email me at curtpalme@shaw.ca if you want one.
Cheers!
