I am getting ready to FINALLY install the VV1 in my basement location. However I think I have ruled out mounting it on the ceiling since my height is only 6'10. So I will most likely be putting it on the floor. I will use a platform of some sort. BUT....I am still actually thinking of using risers for the back row. I still see no issue with this as you will just need to duck your head a little going in or out. My logic for this is say you watch a movie, you will spend 2 to 6 seconds ducking your head and a few hours sitting. Not to mention we all do this getting into most cars. Any flaw in the logic or am I FOS? I even thought of how I would setup the platform. I am in the process of designing it to where I can store it in a out of the way spot and roll it into a set place by way of locking magnets for when I want to use it. I will try and keep it simple. I will use either a couple of 4 person couches or theater chairs.

On the ceiling, no doubt - for such a nice machine you don't want to be moving it and repositioning it, etc seems like more hassle. I have a 99" ceiling I hang my ECP from. It clears my 5'10" head when standing by a few inches -- I'd think your VV! would clear someone standing on a 2nd-row riser.
The only beef is my inlaws get creeped out sleeping underneath it (on the foldaway bed) when they visit.

I started using floor mount and the only thing I can say about it is that it MUST REMAIN STATIC. ANY movement at all screws up the whole thing, I just couldnt make it work. My friend tried with similiar results. In our experience if it isnt mounted on the floor ROCK SOLID it is always a headache.
Just my two cents, Good luck !

Jeff sounds like he has experience and I don't mean to discount his advise.
However, I wonder if you made a passive fixture system if it would be so hard. For example, suppose you setup the PJ exactly as you want it but did so into recessed, carefully chiseled-out holes in the concrete floor. With released agent on everything, you then pour chockfast into the holes to create a singular position into which your base must sit. This would remove all the degrees of freedom and would be as good as your mount...so you'd just have to have a rock-solid, welded w\ cross member base. If you built in adjustment screws, you'd just need to lock-nut and loctite them when done.
EDIT: just realized, I'd want the thing to be movable for service, etc...that's why the overkill approach.
Just some thoughts -- where there is a will!
