Always use the one-hand rule: work with only one hand near high-voltage equipment.
Put the other hand behind your back and/or in your pocket. The worst thing you could do is to have this other hand grounded (e.g. touching metal chassis).
The idea is avoid current flow across your chest (and heart) if you do happen to get shocked.
Regards

We're going to hang the bastard
Fellow forum member Sisterofmercy convinced me and customized an old Barco-600 mount for me.
He's also working on my Sytem Control board to change some caps, which seems not so easy.
So uh, thank you, Sisterofmercy.

STOP!
There is not enough air gap for tha chassis fans, open a hole under the fans!

I totally agree, cut into the plate at least for the fans to blow through.
Just my $.02, I'd also take the metal cover off and leave it off, the one that covers the system boards. It hit me the other day that the boards hold in by themselves just fine, and the tiny holes in the cover really give no air movement. Take the cover off.

The plate is offset from the PJ by 30 mm. It has to be, because of the extra heatsinks that were added to the PJ once.
Of course I could make a few extra holes in the plate, no problem.

It looks much less on the picture, not that the 30mm is much, but in a typical floor mount setup probably there is even less space, extra holes surely would help to keep the machine cool though.

Yes indeed. the gap is actually larger than when the projector was sitting on its feet in a desktop-configuration.
You can see here that the gap just clears the heatsinks. That gap is indeed 30mm (= about 1.2 inch).

You have it attached the correct points? Not in the corners!!
I too would cut holes for the fans, and add some more fans to blow into that area where the focus and convergence boards are, cause that area gets effing hot.

What would be the problem with those points then?

It turned out for a few times that the belly cranked and ruined the whole pj.

Those 4 corner points where the feet screw in are designed for holding the feet, not for hanging the machine.
The 4 holes about half way down on each side are for hanging.
DO NOT use the feet holes for hanging the machine. Youre asking for trouble if you do, and there is no reason to use them in the first place.

Don't worry, it's already setup to use the ceiling mounting holes.
It's a shame, the thread of the feet is a nice size

No, we won't. Fortunately, it is possible to use the bolt holes halfway down.
It's a bit hard to see in the pic, but thanks for the heads up.

Yeah mate they may look nice, but the chassis isn't designed for that as a hanging point!!
I made up some brackets for both my 9PG and my XG, ill take a pic and post it up soon.

thanx for the pic, I have a similar mount that I think came with a barco data 800 to me, never saw one in pics before and never used it myself. does anyone have pics of one attached to a barco crt?

From what I've understood you would "slide in" a Barco 600.
The NEC has no rails to slide, but it's obvious in the picture where the projector would normally slide in.
And by the way, thanks for posting your solution, Case.
It is interesting to see what other people have made. And who knows what I need in the future.

I never understood how this ceiling mount was going to fit a Barco. Until I found out the rails on the Barco 600 were in a different direction! It slides on, just like a 808 on a Barco ceiling mount made for it, but just from a different angle.
Just look up 'barco cm100' on google images and you will probably find a shot that explains it all.

Why is there a resistor hanging out the base?
