|
|
I know, I know, we went down this road before but I never got a definitive answer. I have a few inches to play with on the installation of the factory mount. Anybody know what the correct throw distance SHOULD be ? 110 inch screen 16 9 aspect ratio. Give me a number. The closer I am the less I have to mess with. Thanks in advance.

About 2 feet, and that's only IF I can pick it up.
The best throw distance for any projector is usually the point where first the image is as large as possible on the CRT faces without running the projector out of tolerance, and then moving the projector back until the image fills the screen.
The throw distance calculations are always just a safe and general guideline.
NEC was a huge abuser of this, causing a lot of burned tubes by running much too small an image on the CRT faces.
For my NEC, it turned out to be about 120" from my 110" 16x9 screen.
In the end, max out the active image on green without touching the sides of the tubes and then move it physically to fit the screen. Done.

Ok 118" from the lens barrel to the screen.
